Sarah Montgomery Interiors
A 4500 SF Lakeshore Drive vintage condo gets updated for a busy entrepreneurial family who made their way back to Chicago. Brazilian design meets mid-century, meets midwestern sophistication. Each room features custom millwork and a mix of custom and vintage furniture. Every space has a different feel and purpose creating zones within this whole floor condo. Edgy luxury with lots of layers make the space feel comfortable and collected.
Synergy Design & Construction
These built-in cabinets in the study (repeated on the other side of the glass door as well) lend an air of formality to the study. They are great for storage, and the niche walls built around them give them a stately look.
Meadowlark Design+Build
A built-in desk in this kitchen remodel. Meadowlark maximizes every inch of space! This is part of a whole-home remodel and addition in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Warren French Interiors
A coastal Scandinavian renovation project, combining a Victorian seaside cottage with Scandi design. We wanted to create a modern, open-plan living space but at the same time, preserve the traditional elements of the house that gave it it's character.
Making Room for Peace
Waiting Area for Cedar Counseling & Wellness in Annapolis, MD.
In the early stages of designing Cedar Counseling & Wellness, we knew that we wanted the waiting area to be especially warm and welcoming. Despite it’s expansive scale, the sage/olive green-colored walls almost envelope you when you walk in and the warmth felt through the woven basket pendants and wood, slat dividers help to put you at ease. The soft curves of the modern, white sofas were quite intentional, as we wanted pieces with “curves” to off-set some of the “harder”, more direct elements in the room. All of these “softer” elements help to create a safe and welcoming environment.

The home’s front entry was a constant bottleneck for this family of four, so the goal was to open things up by removing a large section of the stair wall and modifying an existing office/hallway to create dedicated space for a drop zone. The old home office had dated paneling and bulky built-ins that were removed to create a space that’s more fitting for today’s work from home requirements. The modified layout includes space-saving French pocket doors – the glass allows light to flood into the foyer creating an open and inviting space – a far cry from the formerly dark and cramped entry. The newly refinished hardwoods with updated handrails enables the true charm of this Cape Cod to come shining through.

This client had a built in bookcase here originally and no functional space for kids to do homework or paperwork organization. Now this family has a workstation and organization for every member in the family!
