Antique Wood Rust is a 15x60cm wood effect floor tile, made of porcelain with an ink jet print and matt texture finish. Made by Yurtbay. With a Porcelain Enamel Institute (PEI) rating of 4 making it suitable for all domestic and most commerical uses. Wood-effect tiles are increasingly popular and the Antique Wood is a versatile choice that looks fantastic in kitchens, living areas, bathrooms and conservatories. Wood-effect tiles are much easier to lay, maintain and clean than real wooden flooring as well as being much more hard wearing. They do not require sealing and are not prone to warping or rot. An internal playroom was filled in to create study and storage spaces for the adjacent rooms, including a study nook, a walk in robe and hallway cupboards with a seating nook for the children.

I worked with my client to create a home that looked and functioned beautifully whilst minimising the impact on the environment. We reused furniture where possible, sourced antiques and used sustainable products where possible, ensuring we combined deliveries and used UK based companies where possible. The result is a unique family home. An informal seating area around the fireplace with custom joinery created to display family treasures and keepsakes whilst hiding family essentials in the cupboards beneath. Beautiful antique rugs and furniture make this home really special but not so precious that the dog and young children aren't welcome.

Creating an office space in an otherwise unused area of the apartment. Carrying through the gold and green theme - this allows for a separate space to get work done away from the buzz of the rest of the apartment. Changing the ornaments and soft furnishings ensures the space is functional.

A glazed Crittall-style screen defines the home office while maintaining visual connection and borrowed light across the extension.
