Vertical Construction Group LLC-Full renovation of an unfinished basement space in Ballard.
-Removed existing slab and poured a new one 6" lower for better head height
-Reconstructed portions of the existing post and beam system with longer spans to open up the space
-Added and interior drain system and sump pump
-Added a full bathroom
-Added two bedrooms with egress
-New living room space with dry bar and media
-Hid the new mechanical room with shiplap wall detail
-Reconfigured the existing staircase within the challenging foundation parameters. Custom trim package, fir treads, custom steel railings and wood cap
-New furnace and heat pump
-New electrical panel
-Polished the new slab and finished with a wax top coat

Drab to Fab DecoratingWhen we started this project there were 3 lights, red carpet, and fake panel doors where the built-in bookcases are now. This home is an old historic home so it was important to update the space for their kids and guests to come and stay as well as try to make the space appear bigger then it actually was. I went with whitewashed flooring, beautiful tables that were distressed with a white & grey finish. Kept the colors neutral but added a pop of blue. We built the bookshelves so that they could have storage for games and art, the sofa also serves as a sleeper. The desk with mirror above help reflect the light and also allow them to work down there. Client was so thrilled!!
Kathleen Ramsey, Allied ASIDOriginally the client wanted to put the TV on one wall and the awesome fireplace on another AND have lots of seating for guests. We made the TV/Fireplace a focal point and put the biggest sectional we could in there.

Beige and Bleu Design StudioThis basement needed a serious transition, with light pouring in from all angles, it didn't make any sense to do anything but finish it off. Plus, we had a family of teenage girls that needed a place to hangout, and that is exactly what they got. We had a blast transforming this basement into a sleepover destination, sewing work space, and lounge area for our teen clients.
