Courtney Thomas DesignWe planned a thoughtful redesign of this beautiful home while retaining many of the existing features. We wanted this house to feel the immediacy of its environment. So we carried the exterior front entry style into the interiors, too, as a way to bring the beautiful outdoors in. In addition, we added patios to all the bedrooms to make them feel much bigger. Luckily for us, our temperate California climate makes it possible for the patios to be used consistently throughout the year.
The original kitchen design did not have exposed beams, but we decided to replicate the motif of the 30" living room beams in the kitchen as well, making it one of our favorite details of the house. To make the kitchen more functional, we added a second island allowing us to separate kitchen tasks. The sink island works as a food prep area, and the bar island is for mail, crafts, and quick snacks.
We designed the primary bedroom as a relaxation sanctuary – something we highly recommend to all parents. It features some of our favorite things: a cognac leather reading chair next to a fireplace, Scottish plaid fabrics, a vegetable dye rug, art from our favorite cities, and goofy portraits of the kids.

Village Home StoresA herringbone pattern is framed with a border creating the look of a front entry rug but instead adds interest. This view from descending the staircase is a great example of how to add interest to your ceramic tile floor without using multiple colors or materials.
Flavin ArchitectsThis new house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood developed in the 1920’s, that is in transition, with new larger homes replacing the original modest-sized homes. The house is designed to be harmonious with its traditional neighbors, with divided lite windows, and hip roofs. The roofline of the shingled house steps down with the sloping property, keeping the house in scale with the neighborhood. European Design InteriorsCombining exquisite artwork, bespoke artisanship, and elegant touches to create a functional and dog-friendly home was a challenge we embraced. We incorporated fine performance fabrics that look and feel opulent, ensuring this Stuart home seamlessly transitions from the beautiful indoors to the lovely sculpture gardens.
Mercury Mosaics and TileThis lovely St. Paul home needed to give their entry way a tile face lift. So, they turned to us to make tile for their beautiful home. Our rustic Patina glaze color lent well to their mission style entryway.

Flavin ArchitectsThis new house is perched on a bluff overlooking Long Pond. The compact dwelling is carefully sited to preserve the property's natural features of surrounding trees and stone outcroppings. The great room doubles as a recording studio with high clerestory windows to capture views of the surrounding forest.
