Studio DearbornA young family moving from NYC tackled a lightning fast makeover of their new colonial revival home before the arrival of their second child. The kitchen area was quite spacious but needed a facelift and new layout. Painted cabinetry matched to Benjamin Moore’s Light Pewter is balanced by grey glazed rift oak cabinetry on the island. Shiplap paneling on the island and cabinet lend a slightly contemporary edge. White bronze hardware by Schaub & Co. in a contemporary bar shape offer clean lines with some texture in a warm metallic tone.
White Marble countertops in “Alpine Mist” create a harmonious color palette while the pale blue/grey Waterworks backsplash adds a touch of color. UserThe flooring throughout the kitchen and main living area of this home is mango wood imported from Hawaii.
The kitchen countertops are unique, made from one-of-a-kind, custom, multi-colored geodes imported from Israel. The kitchen backsplashes are caribbean blue iridescent tiles.
The breakfast nook is multi-functional, operating as a home office and built-in study space for grandkids.

Adam Gibson DesignThe homeowners wanted to take advantage of induction cooking, but were hesitant because of their unfamiliarity. I suggested reducing their cooktop from 36” to 30” and adding a 15” gas cooktop. The jury’s still out as to whether they'll use the gas, as they've fallen in love with induction.

Rebecca Reynolds Design -New Canaan KitchensA complete makeover of a tired 1990s mahogany kitchen in a stately Greenwich back country manor.
We couldn't change the windows in this project due to exterior restrictions but the fix was clear.
We transformed the entire space of the kitchen and adjoining grand family room space by removing the dark cabinetry and painting over all the mahogany millwork in the entire space. The adjoining family walls with a trapezoidal vaulted ceiling needed some definition to ground the room. We added painted paneled walls 2/3rds of the way up to entire family room perimeter and reworked the entire fireplace wall with new surround, new stone and custom cabinetry around it with room for an 85" TV.
The end wall in the family room had floor to ceiling gorgeous windows and Millowrk details. Once everything installed, painted and furnished the entire space became connected and cohesive as the central living area in the home.
