Kuche+Cucina18 years ago, Kuche+Cucina was hired to build the kitchen in what would become the most expensive house in Fort Lee, NJ. Fast forward 18 years, the house was sold and the new owner, together with their architect, selected Kuche+Cucina to design and build the new kitchen, as well as several other areas in the house.
The cabinetry, that once was traditional, was now very modern. The maple wood was replaced by dark stained, textured rift French white oak. The tile flooring was removed and wood flooring was installed and some of the walls were changed, to improve the design.
The new kitchen is now fitting perfectly in this amazing home, with Manhattan views.

A mixture of the modern beaded inset cabinets and a timelessly elegant marble backsplash.
One of the most beautiful features of mid-century modern is brass, thus the use of brass pendant light above the island and sink as well as wall sconces to accentuate the board and baton accent wall.

Red ArchitectureProgetto d’interni di un’abitazione di circa 240 mq all’ultimo piano di un edificio moderno in zona City Life a Milano. La zona giorno è composta da un ampio living con accesso al terrazzo e una zona pranzo con cucina a vista con isola isola centrale, colonne attrezzate ed espositori. La zona notte consta di una camera da letto master con bagno en-suite, armadiatura walk-in e a parete, una camera da letto doppia con sala da bagno e una camera singola con un ulteriore bagno.
DEANE Inc | Distinctive Design & CabinetryA DEANE client returned in 2022 for an update to their kitchen remodel project from 2006. This incredible transformation was driven by the desire to create a glamorous space for both cooking and entertaining. The frameless cabinetry with a mitered door and satin brass hardware is deliberately understated to highlight the marble. Dramatic and bold, the continuous, book-matched Panda White marble was used throughout the open footprint, including the fireplace surround, to give the space a cohesive feel. The custom, tapered hood, also covered in Panda White is a commanding centerpiece. The expansive space allowed for two waterfall-edge islands with mitered countertops - one for cooking with black-stained oak cabinets for storage and a prep sink, and the second to seat 6 for dining, which replaced the original informal eating area. A tray ceiling with wallpaper detailing elegantly frames both together.
No detail was overlooked in the design process. A coffee station with retractable doors and beverage drawers was situated to graciously welcome guests. A Wolf 60” range, walnut interiors, customized drawer inserts, unlacquered brass finishes and a Galley Workstation elevate this kitchen into a truly sophisticated space.
Homework Design.Build.RemodelThis is one of our favorite kitchen projects! We started by deleting two walls and a closet, followed by framing in the new eight foot window and walk-in pantry. We stretched the existing kitchen across the entire room, and built a huge nine foot island with a gas range and custom hood. New cabinets, appliances, elm flooring, custom woodwork, all finished off with a beautiful rustic white brick.

“A family home to be lived in not just looked at” placed functionality as main priority in the
extensive renovation of this coastal holiday home.
Existing layout featured:
– Inadequate bench space in the cooking zone
– An impractical and overly large walk in pantry
– Torturous angles in the design of the house made work zones cramped with a frenetic aesthetic at odds
with the linear skylights creating disharmony and an unbalanced feel to the entire space.
– Unappealing seating zones, not utilising the amazing view or north face space
WISH LIST
– Comfortable retreat for two people and extend family, with space for multiple cooks to work in the kitchen together or to a functional work zone for a couple.
DESIGN SOLUTION
– Removal of awkward angle walls creating more space for a larger kitchen
– External angles which couldn’t be modified are hidden, creating a rational, serene space where the skylights run parallel to walls and fittings.
NEW KITCHEN FEATURES
– A highly functional layout with well-defined and spacious cooking, preparing and storage zones.
– Generous bench space around cooktop and sink provide great workability in a small space
– An inviting island bench for relaxing, working and entertaining for one or many cooks
– A light filled interior with ocean views from several vantage points in the kitchen
– An appliance/pantry with sliding for easy access to plentiful storage and hidden appliance use to
keep the kitchen streamlined and easy to keep tidy.
