Donna Livingston DesignSag Harbor’s location in the Hamptons on New York’s long island provides an aquatic backdrop for this stately home. Incorporating that light and airy ambience into the interior design of this home, white, accompanied by shades of beige, became the signature colors of this design, enriched by texture as well as the contrast of understated hues. The result is an atmosphere of sophisticated livability, making this home the peer of those in the Architectural Digest Top 100.
Part of the overall appeal of this top interior is the interplay of natural light with the equally natural materials of wood and stone, highlighted in the floors, counters and built-in cabinetry. From the remodeling of the kitchen and bathrooms, with their cream-colored cabinets and floors, to the elegant combination of warm wood floors and plush area rugs, the subtlety of the tones celebrates the beauty of this home’s architectural interior.

Cabinetry Studio by MainStreetSoaring coffered ceilings add drama to this beautiful traditional kitchen. Paint glaze custom cabinets surround the dark wood islands creating a warm and inviting space that is efficient for both everyday family use and catered events.
Colonial Craft Kitchens, IncThis kitchen was designed for efficient cooking, and it looks fabulously French doing it. Designed to evoke the French Colonial period, its 10-foot ceilings, emblematic arches and intricate woodwork would have made Louis XIV proud. A decorative armoire, topped with iron pieces imported from Italy, hides the refrigerator, and a two-tiered Madura Gold granite island features a wet bar and two integrated white ovens. Drewett WorksThe genesis of design for this desert retreat was the informal dining area in which the clients, along with family and friends, would gather.
Located in north Scottsdale’s prestigious Silverleaf, this ranch hacienda offers 6,500 square feet of gracious hospitality for family and friends. Focused around the informal dining area, the home’s living spaces, both indoor and outdoor, offer warmth of materials and proximity for expansion of the casual dining space that the owners envisioned for hosting gatherings to include their two grown children, parents, and many friends.
The kitchen, adjacent to the informal dining, serves as the functioning heart of the home and is open to the great room, informal dining room, and office, and is mere steps away from the outdoor patio lounge and poolside guest casita. Additionally, the main house master suite enjoys spectacular vistas of the adjacent McDowell mountains and distant Phoenix city lights.
The clients, who desired ample guest quarters for their visiting adult children, decided on a detached guest casita featuring two bedroom suites, a living area, and a small kitchen. The guest casita’s spectacular bedroom mountain views are surpassed only by the living area views of distant mountains seen beyond the spectacular pool and outdoor living spaces.
