Stoneham Kitchens
The owner of a detached seafront property in Sandgate, Folkestone, was looking for a new kitchen that would be sympathetic to the picturesque coastal location of the property. The owner wanted the space to be welcoming and relaxing, taking inspiration from the look and feel of a traditional bright beach hut.
Having had a Stoneham Kitchen before, and impressed by the quality, the owner wanted her new kitchen to be of the same craftsmanship. She therefore approached kitchen designer Philip Haines at Stoneham Kitchens for her second kitchen project.
To get the natural feel of the beachfront, the owner opted for Stoneham’s Bewl range with in-frame flush doors, finished in a rustic oak enhanced grain and painted in Crown’s Starry Host – a sea inspired shade of blue. In contrast to the deep ocean blue hue, part of the kitchen cupboards were finished in Crown Mussel – a soft cream tone.
The Practical Planning Company Ltd
This is a recently finished simple flat roof kitchen extension with roof lantern to bring lots of natural light in. As it was a bungalow, we did a half vault over the kitchen and introduced a Velux to give the illusion of a bigger space.
Sometimes it’s better to keep (and update/renovate) the kitchen in the original part of the house and use the new space for lounge/diner as it provides more space for units. And this is exactly what we did here. The result is a bright, airy and functional space - perfect if you’re looking to downsize into a bungalow.

Start With Art Interiors
The brief for this kitchen design was contemporary and quirky. The client was keen to inject lots of colour into the design as well as industrial accents. The final design features a dark and rich contemporary paint palette which allowed the funky accessories such as the pendant lights and blinds to really pop.
Colliers Kitchens
Inspired by the waves breaking just a stone’s throw away, this light and spacious kitchen is the ultimate seaside entertaining space.
Nordic Oak units and Venaro White worktops highlight the brightness of the room, while the mirrored splashbacks open up the corner, adding to the feeling of space. The dark colour of these splashbacks also adds the perfect amount of depth to the design. The most distinctive elements, though, are arguably the Aquamarine units, whose colour ties in beautifully with the sea view.
The generous L-shaped island gives the open-plan space cohesion, running parallel to the wall units and creating an elegant transition between the kitchen area and the rest of the room. The island also includes a seating area for four, enabling guests to join the host while they cook, before moving to the dinner table or sofa together.
