This new construction home is located in Hinsdale, Illinois. The main goal of this kitchen was to create a real cook’s kitchen– great for entertaining and large family gatherings. The concept was to have this working kitchen loaded with appliances completely hidden since the space is open to the family room. O’Brien Harris Cabinetry in Chicago (OBH) seamlessly integrated the kitchen into the architecture. They created concealed appliance storage and designed cabinetry to look like furniture. The back wall of the kitchen was designed to look like a beautiful, paneled wall. The ovens were located off to the side – pulled up on legs so it felt lighter and not so heavy. OBH designed metal cuffs at the cabinet base so the unit looks like a piece of furniture. This kitchen has all the function but still is beautiful. obrienharris.com

A gorgeous contemporary kitchen design was created by deleting the range, microwave and incorporating a cooktop, under counter oven and hood. The microwave was relocated and an under counter microwave was incorporated into the design. These appliances were moved to balance the design and create a perfect symmetry. The washer & dryer were incorporated within the cabinetry so they would not invade the visual appeal. Products used were Poggenpohl High Gloss Cubanit with automated horizontal bi-fold uppers. Slim line handles was used on the cabinetry to maintain the minimalistic design. A large island designed to create a bold yet appealing horizontal design. Quartz tops were used. The Final results of a gorgeous kitchen

The classic modern design of this kitchen was planned for an active young family of four who uses the space as their central hub for gathering, eating and staying connected. Our goals were to create a beautiful and highly functional kitchen with an emphasis on cabinet organization, heated floors and incorporating a live edge slab countertop. We removed an existing bulky island and replaced it with a new island that while only 60 x 26 in size packs a powerful punch housing a baking center, trash/recycle center, microwave oven and cookbook storage. The island seemed the natural place for the gorgeous live edge slab coupled with vintage mercury glass light pendants that make for a truly stunning kitchen island. Polished carrara quartz perimeter counters pair beautifully with the watery blue-green glass backsplash tile. A message center conveniently located on a side panel of the refrigerator cabinet houses built in mailboxes, a family calendar and magnetic surface to display the children’s artwork. We are pleased to have met the family’s goals and that they love their kitchen. Design mission accomplished! Photography by: Marcela Winspear

Step into this vibrant and inviting kitchen that combines modern design with playful elements. The centrepiece of this kitchen is the 20mm Marbled White Quartz worktops, which provide a clean and sophisticated surface for preparing meals. The light-coloured quartz complements the overall bright and airy ambience of the kitchen. The cabinetry, with doors constructed from plywood, introduces a natural and warm element to the space. The distinctive round cutouts serve as handles, adding a touch of uniqueness to the design. The cabinets are painted in a delightful palette of Inchyra Blue and Ground Pink, infusing the kitchen with a sense of fun and personality. A pink backsplash further enhances the playful colour scheme while providing a stylish and easy-to-clean surface. The kitchen's brightness is accentuated by the strategic use of rose gold elements. A rose gold tap and matching pendant lights introduce a touch of luxury and sophistication to the design. The island situated at the centre enhances functionality as it provides additional worktop space and an area for casual dining and entertaining. The integrated sink in the island blends seamlessly for a streamlined look. Do you find inspiration in this fun and unique kitchen design? Visit our project pages for more.

The new open-plan kitchen and living room have a sloped roof extension with skylights and large bi-folding doors. We designed the kitchen bespoke to our client's individual requirements with 6 seats at a large double sides island, a large corner pantry unit and a hot water tap. Off this space, there is also a utility room. The seating area has a three-seater and a two-seater sofa which both recline. There is also still space to add a dining table if the client wishes in the future.

Davonport Holkham shaker-style cabinetry with exposed butt hinges was chosen for a classic look and its smaller proportions in this Victorian country kitchen. Hand painted in a beautiful light stone (Slate 11 – from Paint & Paper Library) and heritage green (Farrow & Ball’s studio green), the colour scheme provides the perfect canvas for the antique-effect brushed brass accessories. A traditional style white porcelain butler sink with brass taps is positioned in front of the large sash window, providing a stylish focal point when you enter the room. Then at the heart of the kitchen is a freestanding-style island (topped with the same white quartz worktop as the rest of the room). Designed with plenty of storage in the way of cupboards and drawers (as well as breakfast bar seating for 2), it acts as a prep table that is positioned in easy reach of the professional quality Miele induction hob and ovens. These elements help nod to the heritage of the classic country kitchen that would have originally been found in the property. Out of the main cooking zone, but in close proximity to seating on the island, a breakfast cupboard/drinks cabinet houses all of Mr Edward’s coffee gadgets at worktop level. Above, several shelves finished with opulent mirrored glass and back-lit lights showcase the couples’ selection of fine cut glassware. This creates a real wow feature in the evening and can be seen from the couples’ large round walnut dining table which is positioned with views of the English-country garden. The overall style of the kitchen is classic, with a very welcoming and homely feel. It incorporates pieces of charming antique furniture with the clean lines of the hand painted Davonport cabinets marrying the old and the new.

Our client wanted a functional and striking kitchen and utility area spread across a long single wall with differing heights due to the mezzanine. A requirement was to have plenty of storage for a growing family, a large island with no seating, a large double larder, and to have a utility section with coat storage. The client wanted a traditional look to the cabinets which we achieved with cockbeaded frames and quadrant moulding for the door panels. The space is very light and bright due to the large crittall windows so the dark blue cabinets (Basalt by Little Greene) look great. Also, the exposed brick wall adds warmth.
