Kristen Elizabeth DesignA cute mission style home in downtown Sacramento is home to a couple whose style runs a little more eclectic. We elevated the cabinets to the fullest height of the wall and topped with textured painted mesh lit uppers. We kept the original soapstone counters and redesigned the lower base cabinets for more functionality and a modern aesthetic. All painted surfaces including the wood floors are Farrow and Ball. What makes this space really special? The swing of course!
Arcata Cabinet & Design CompanyCherry with a Light stain is so warm and inviting, reminding the clients of the tall redwood trees that surround the Blue Lake Valley. A modern Sable finish hardware from Top Knobs was used to create a streamlined look with a gentle contrast on the cabinets.

CC Woodcrafters of New EnglandWelcome to this charming, high-style kitchen featuring Benjamin Moore paint in “everglades” to show off a one-of-a-kind look. How about that antique stove and drop-in sink? Those throw backs plus the shabby chic crystal chandeliers make this kitchen one of our all-time favorites. Soapstone counter tops provide a stunning contrast to the painted cabinetry. Inset doors with barrel hinges highlight the character of this CCW Custom remodel. Classic decorative ends polish the look as the beaded inside edge detail of the doors add depth and dimension. Blind corner storage makes good use of every inch as does the intelligently hidden double trash pullout. This alluring country design makes us want to pull up a stool at the counter and sip sweet tea from a mason jar.
Metzger DesignSome spaces are best understood before and after. Our Carytown Kitchen project demonstrates how a small space can be transformed for minimal expense.
First and foremost was maximizing space. With only 9 sf of built-in counter space we understood these work surfaces needed to be kept free of small appliances and clutter - and that meant extra storage. The introduction of high wall cabinets provides much needed storage for occasional use equipment and helps keep everything dust-free in the process.

CM Natural DesignsThis adorable beach cottage is in the heart of the village of La Jolla in San Diego. The goals were to brighten up the space and be the perfect beach get-away for the client whose permanent residence is in Arizona. Some of the ways we achieved the goals was to place an extra high custom board and batten in the great room and by refinishing the kitchen cabinets (which were in excellent shape) white. We created interest through extreme proportions and contrast. Though there are a lot of white elements, they are all offset by a smaller portion of very dark elements. We also played with texture and pattern through wallpaper, natural reclaimed wood elements and rugs. This was all kept in balance by using a simplified color palate minimal layering.
