We removed the wall between the dining room and the kitchen. They did a flat ceiling in the kitchen but did not want to go through the expense or “mess” to scrape the rest of the ceilings on the main floor so we put in the false/decorative beam to split the areas.
The false beam and floating shelves were custom made by Leroy. The false beam was not required but it separated the ceiling textures.
Breathe Design StudioA transitional townhouse for a family with a touch of modern design and blue accents. When I start a project, I always ask a client to describe three words that they want to describe their home. In this instance, the owner asked for a modern, clean, and functional aesthetic that would be family-friendly, while also allowing him to entertain. We worked around the owner's artwork by Ryan Fugate in order to choose a neutral but also sophisticated palette of blues, greys, and green for the entire home. Metallic accents create a more modern feel that plays off of the hardware already in the home. The result is a comfortable and bright home where everyone can relax at the end of a long day.

Karen Ellentuck. ASIDThis kitchen was in a home dating from the early 20th century and located in the Mt. Baker neighborhood of Seattle. It is u-shaped with an island in the center topped with a zinc counter. Black and white tile was used on the floor in a tradition pattern with hexagon as the inset and a black and white border with a square mosaic around the perimeter framing the island. Cabinetry is inset traditional style with the hardware on the exterior. the base of each cabinet is framed with a footed detail. Base cabinet were painted with teal, upper cabinets are white and the full height cabinets are mahogany which is used throughout the residence. A tradition style faucet was used with the pull out attached. Cup pulls are used on the drawers and knobs have a back plate.
Studio M Kitchen & BathTraditional meets today in this beautiful kitchen remodel. A fresh color palette transforms this kitchen to meet this modern family’s needs. Thoughtful cabinetry design, with a large center island and rustic flooring are the key design elements. The challenge was to offer a traditional design with an emphasis on ease and functionality. The oversized refrigerator has a double freezer and all cabinets have multi-function storage built in. These are the ingredients that make this kitchen really cook.

Larkspur Lane DesignAfter a sand and polish, the timber cabinet doors have shaved off a few years, and the replacement of the laminate/timber edged counter tops (with widened sink counter ), this kitchen is truly transformed. Kitchens are extremely expensive to replace, so a stitch in time and a partial-upgrade can often be the best solution when selling your home.

San Luis Kitchen Co.French country styling is expressed here with the rustic plaster hood, muted colors and mullioned glass doors. The bountiful harvest mural and deco tiles (hand-painted in France with a crackle glaze!) are the epitome of country -- further accented by the faux window painting and yellow flower garland. (The faux window is hiding an oddly placed electronic controls.)
