Paradise Tiny Homes LLCThis coastal, contemporary Tiny Home features a warm yet industrial style kitchen with stainless steel counters and husky tool drawers and black cabinets. The silver metal counters are complimented by grey subway tiling as a backsplash against the warmth of the locally sourced curly mango wood windowsill ledge. The mango wood windowsill also acts as a pass-through window to an outdoor bar and seating area on the deck. Entertaining guests right from the kitchen essentially makes this a wet-bar. LED track lighting adds the right amount of accent lighting and brightness to the area. The window is actually a french door that is mirrored on the opposite side of the kitchen. This kitchen has 7-foot long stainless steel counters on either end. There are stainless steel outlet covers to match the industrial look. There are stained exposed beams adding a cozy and stylish feeling to the room. To the back end of the kitchen is a frosted glass pocket door leading to the bathroom. All shelving is made of Hawaiian locally sourced curly mango wood. A stainless steel fridge matches the rest of the style and is built-in to the staircase of this tiny home. Dish drying racks are hung on the wall to conserve space and reduce clutter.
Tate EnterprisesThis classic traditional kitchen works perfect in this Tudor home. The previous kitchen was knotty pine and very country. Our client was looking for a modern kitchen that would fit with the traditional exterior of the home. The white perimeter cabinets we took to the ceiling and stacked for a clean line and maximum storage. The large island is perfect for prep work and serving a large buffet when entertaining. The paneled appliances keep the kitchen clean and blend into the adjoining cabinetry. A few special details we included are the pull-out shelves in the built-in pantry, for easy access to the items that usually get lost in the back, and a shallow top drawer under the cooktop, for utensils. This kitchen is perfect for our client.

Sue Monday's DesignThis kitchen received a huge update and remodel including removing a hanging cabinet to make things brighter and more open and to improve the space between the kitchen and dining room. The work also included new flooring, paint, cabinets, sink, and appliances. You can wouldn't know it was the same kitchen!
Whiski Kitchen Design StudioIn this 1905 Tudor home, the intent of this design was to take advantage of the classic architecture of the home and incorporate modern conveniences.
Located in the Joseph Berry Subdivision in Detroit, this stellar home presented several design challenges. The most difficult challenge to overcome was the 11” slope from one end of the kitchen to the other, caused by 110 years of settling. All new floor joists were installed and the floor by the side door was then recessed down one step. This created a cozy nook when you first enter the kitchen. A tiered ceiling with strategically planned cabinetry heights and crown molding concealed the slope of the walls at the ceiling level.
The second challenge in this historic home was the awkward foot print of the kitchen. It’s likely that this kitchen had a butler’s pantry originally. However it was remodeled sometime in the 70’s and all original character was erased. Clever pantry storage was added to an awkward corner creating a space that mimicked the essence of a butler’s pantry, while providing storage desired in kitchens today.
Keeping the large footprint of the kitchen presented obstacles with the working triangle; the distance from the sink to the cooktop is several feet. The solution was installation of a pot filler over the cooktop that added convenience and elegance (not sure about this word). Not everything in this project was a challenge; the discovery of a brick chimney hiding behind plaster was a welcome surprise and brought character back honoring the historic charm of this beautiful home.

Tresco Undercabinet LED Lighting
Carved Custom CabinetsThis Spanish colonial panel style from carvedcabinet.com (Carved Custom Cabinets) was inspired by a 200 year old, small, hand carved trunk on legs displayed in the Museum of New Mexico. It was found in a village north of Santa Fe. The trim surrounding the panels was inspired by a book on the history of woodworking in New Mexico. Finished in a honey (Miel) with dark glaze to enhance the carving and medium distressing.
The full wall treatment using azul palido tiles is enhanced by insets of tile inspired by the folk art images taken from the vintage Mexican game of 'Lotteria'. The 'Lotteria' tile was designed and made specifically for this exciting project which is located in Tesuque, New Mexico.
Stove is a vintage O'Keefe and Merritt.
