Story LLCLight and airy kitchen and great room renovation, with new "drop zone" for coats and shoes, vaulted ceilings, and plenty of space for greenery. This project was done on budget and on time, and the difference in space for the clients was tremendous. We used all GE Cafe Line Appliances in matte white with brass hardware. The cabinets are custom, and the pulls are Restoration Hardware in the Dover line.

Interior Changes home design & consultingThis kitchen remodel gave the lakhouse a generous space for entertaining, cooking, eating and work. We opened up the previous sunroom and created the beverage and snack area with a televison for expanded use. The seating island doubles as a working counter with file cabinets and ample computer storage in the cabinets below. Stained wood trim throughout the existing lakehouse blends in with the new wood flooring and the blue and white accents tie everything together.
UserWe wanted to create a space where all the family would could get together and enjoy or entertain friends. We designed a warm palette of taupes, creams and brass fittings. The quartz surfaces gave the kitchen a beautiful gloss finish with the wood panelling to the front of the island the perfect finishing and unique touch.
Blue Tea Kitchens and BathroomsA beautiful Hamptons kitchen featuring slimline white shaker and V-groove cabinetry, Carrara marble bench tops and splash back with fluted glass with black and timber accents. A soaring v-groove vaulted ceiling and a light filled space make this kitchen inviting, warm and fresh. A black butlers pantry with brass features punctures this space and is visible through a steel black door.
Amethyst HomeThis fall, Amethyst had the opportunity to partner with Freeman Custom Homes of Kansas City to furnish this 5000 sq ft European Modern designed home for the Artisan Home Tour 2020!
Every square inch of this home was magical -- from the secret staircase in the master bath leading to a private shuttered plunge pool to the vaulted kitchen with sky high mushroom colored cabinetry and handmade zellige tile.
We met the builders during the cabinetry phase and watching their final, thoughtful design details evolve was such full of over-the-top surprises like the unique valet-like storage in the entry and limestone fireplace!
As soon as we saw their vision for the home, we knew our furnishings would be a great match as our design style celebrates handmade rugs, artisan handmade custom seating, old-meets-new art, and let's be honest -- we love to go big! They trusted us to do our thing on the entire main level and we enjoyed every minute.
The load in took 3 full trucks and fortunately for us -- the homeowners fell in love with several pieces so our uninstall trip was significantly lighter. I think we were all a little emotional leaving this masterpiece but sooooo happy for the owners and just hoping we get invited to a Christmas party...
Here are some of the highlights -- 90% of the furnishings and rugs were from our shop and we filled in the gaps with some extra special pieces!
UserGlo European Windows A7 series was carefully selected for the Elk Ridge Passive House because of their High Solar Heat Gain Coefficient which allows the home to absorb free solar heat, and a low U-value to retain this heat once the sunsets. The A7 windows were an excellent choice for durability and the ability to remain resilient in the harsh winter climate. Glo’s European hardware ensures smooth operation for fresh air and ventilation. The A7 windows from Glo were an easy choice for the Elk Ridge Passive House project.

Greenberg ConstructionThis bright and airy kitchen combines the rustic charm of natural wood beams with the modern luxury of marble countertops. The expansive central island, crafted from light wood, anchors the room and provides ample space for meal preparation and casual dining. Flat-panel light wood cabinetry offers abundant storage, blending seamlessly with the white shiplap walls that enhance the space's open feel. Geometric-patterned backsplash tiles add a touch of sophistication, while the large windows invite natural light and offer views of the outdoors, creating an inviting space for both cooking and gathering.
