Planet FurnitureWe’re delighted to be able to show this, our latest project in Welwyn Garden City.
More than ever, we need our homes to do so much. We want the kitchens functional and beautiful, the living areas comfortable yet practical with plenty of storage - and when it’s open plan living, like this one, we want the spaces to connect in a stylish and individual way. Choosing a supplier that creates hand built, bespoke cabinets and fitted furniture is the very best way to ensure all boxes are ticked!
In this project the kitchen and living areas have been hand built in a classic Shaker style which is sure to stand the test of time but with some lovely contemporary touches. The mirror splashback, in the kitchen, allows the natural light to bounce around the kitchen and the copper accents are bright and stylish and keep the whole look current. The pendants are from tom Dixon @tom_dixon11.
The cabinets are hand painted in F&B’s downpipe which is a favourite, and for good reason. It contrasts beautifully with their chalky Wimbourne White and, in an open plan living situation like this, it sets the kitchen area apart from living area.
At Planet we love combining two finishes. Here, the Corian worktop in Vanilla sits beautifully with the Solid oak Breakfast bar which in itself is great with a wooden floor.
The colours and finishes continue into the Living Room which unifies the whole look. The cupboards and shelving are painted in Wimbourne White with accents of the Downpipe on the back panels of the shelving. A drinks cabinet has become a popular addition to our projects, and no wonder! It’s a stylish and fun addition to the room. With doors closed it blends perfectly with the run of storage cupboards and open – no detail has been overlooked. It has integrated lighting and the worktop is the same Vanilla Corian as the kitchen. To complete the drinks cupboard a scalloped oak wine rack below has been hand built by our skilled craftsmen.
Foremost InteriorsKitchen features pre-finished engineered hardwood floors-Natural Malaysian walnut in a satin finish. The kitchen backsplash is a 3x12 glass, gold-metallic tile. Countertops are granite.
Drury DesignTo add more cabinetry space a tall storage unit was designed with lighted glass door cabinets and exposed interior finished rollouts to display the homeowners cookware and dishes. Sconces on either side of this unit added a nice finishing touch.
European Cabinets & Design StudiosBase cabinets from the Aran Cucine Miro collection in Canavacio. Wall cabinets from the Bijou collection in white matte glass. Bar cabinets from BIjou with decorative glass. Ovens, coffee maker, wine cooler, range hood, cooktop by Miele. Samsung refrigerator.
Mosby Building ArtsThe undermount sink with a Kohler Simplice pull-down faucet in polished chrome has a hidden compartment. Pull out the panel under the sink and they store all the cleaning items that usually junk up a countertop.

Stalburg DesignThis stunning Art Deco Kitchen was a labor of love and vision for our creative homeowners who were ready to update their kitchen of 30+ years. By removing the peninsula island and creating space for a seated banquette, we were able to custom design and a curved mahogany island and curved bench to offset the straight dramatic dark lines of the main kitchen. With gold metallic tile and the new Litze Faucet in split finish of gold and black, we think drama in the kitchen looks fabulous indeed!
Sceltas Custom HomesThis Old Village home received a kitchen and master bathroom facelift. As a full renovation, we completely gutted both spaces and reinvented them as functional and upgraded rooms for this young family to enjoy for years to come. With the assistance of interior design selections by Krystine Edwards, the end result is glamorous yet inviting.
The kitchen boasts a long island that seats six with beautiful upholstered chairs. Two large lucite & brass pendants catch your eye before they are taken to the custom-made stainless steel and brass hood. There are several high-end features in this kitchen, including Thermador appliances, a Thermador built-in cabinet front refrigerator and freezer, and matte brass fixtures and hardware throughout. The walls were tiled with 2×8 golden glass subway tile and two singing arm brass sconces were added above each window. The base and island cabinets from Cliq Studios were custom painted. Sitting next to the kitchen is a desirable living space and wet bar equipped with a wine cooler and under-cabinet ice maker.
