The kitchen at one end of the great room has a large island. The custom designed light fixture above the island doubles as a pot rack. The combination cherry wood and stainless steel cabinets are custom made. the floor is walnut 5 inch wide planks. The flooring in the 'business end' of the kitchen is porcelain tile.

Katz Builders, Inc.Once a very dark kitchen, now light and bright. This home is located on Lake Austin and the exterior of the home is stucco with clean lines. Lots of windows allow the fabulous view at the back of the home to be the main art filtering from one room to the next. When the owners purchased this home, their vision was to brighten it up and to make it light and airy. The original home used dark colors and created the Texas Hill Country Tuscan "want to be" decor. Budget was an issue and rather than tear out the cabinets throughout the home we had them painted and used the color to anchor all the other colors we used throughout the home. Celine Coly, interior designer and homeowner worked hand and glove selecting hardwood flooring, tile, plumbing fixtures, etc. to make it all come together while staying within the budget.

Carlton EdwardsConcealed storage and refrigeration are an afterthought as the white oak wainscot panels bring forth the warmth and charm of a community eating and prep area. The vast island is made of custom steel with a wax finish and soapstone top. Easily store spices behind the concealed cabinets flanking the range. Thermadore appliances keep the cook in the kitchen, and the black and steel backsplash offers a brass shelf for cooking oils and spices. Flanking both sides of the range are panel doors that lead into the scullery and are topped off with leaded glass transoms.

MOSS MANOR | Sarah James MossIn the kitchen, mismatched cabinetry was gutted. New shaker‐style cabinets were installed, including a refrigerator enclosure, decorative hood vent, and large storage island with seating for two. Slab granite throughout is paired with a reproduction pressed-‐tin backsplash. New appliances include a gas cooktop, double wall oven, hood vent, kitchen sink and sink filler, dishwasher, and instant hot water tank. A hidden cabinet for a television was added above the refrigerator.

Derrick ArchitectureA symmetrical kitchen opens to the family room in this open floor plan. The island provides a thick wood eating ledge with a dekton work surface. A grey accent around the cooktop is split by the metallic soffit running through the space. A smaller work kitchen/open pantry is off to one side for additional prep space.
