Cabinet-S-TopThis laundry room was more of a challenge. The designer took space from a hall closet to not only accommodate a large capacity stackable washer and drying, but also to give the customer a large counter space and pantry. Waypoint LivingSpace T12S White Thermofoil door style with Wilsonart Quartz in Empire State color on the countertop.
Brad Cox, Architect, Inc.The laundry room also functions as a hallway, with the bathroom directly opposite. The french window opens inward, leaving a wide open space that can function as a pass-through for parties. The yellow house in the background is the only one looking onto this property, and a Pittosporum hedge is well on its way to providing privacy.
AMEK Custom BuildersFunction and good looks colorfully blend together in the combination laundry room/mudroom and the nearby pantry. Open shelving allows for quick access while pocket doors can easily close off the spaces before guests arrive. The laundry room/mudroom has a side entrance door for letting the dog out (and back in) and for handy access to an utility sink when needed after doing outdoor chores.
Danny Broe ArchitectLaundry under stairs - We designed the laundry under the new stairs and carefully designed the joinery so that the laundry doors look like wall panels to the stair. When closed the laundry disappears but when it's open it has everything in it. We carefully detailed the laundry doors to have the stair stringer so that your eye follows the art deco balustrade instead.
Carter Fox Design BuildCarter Fox Renovations was hired to do a complete renovation of this semi-detached home in the Gerrard-Coxwell neighbourhood of Toronto. The main floor was completely gutted and transformed - most of the interior walls and ceilings were removed, a large sliding door installed across the back, and a small powder room added. All the electrical and plumbing was updated and new herringbone hardwood installed throughout.
Upstairs, the bathroom was expanded by taking space from the adjoining bedroom. We added a second floor laundry and new hardwood throughout. The walls and ceiling were plaster repaired and painted, avoiding the time, expense and excessive creation of landfill involved in a total demolition.
The clients had a very clear picture of what they wanted, and the finished space is very liveable and beautifully showcases their style.
