Alair Homes Georgian Bay
Major renovation including 4 additions, completely new inside and out, new accessory building, complete landscape overhaul.
This project started with the approval of 6 minor variances in order to accommodate the new plan & accessory building. Working with our exceptional clients, we were able to successfully complete this major transformation both inside and out. This year-round, waterfront oasis will be enjoyed by family and friends for years to come.
9 Design Environments
Set in a quiet street in Sandringham, the original building had two poorly executed kitchen and bathroom renovations at the back. In addition, a garage and storage lean-to was taking up a large part of the north facing garden and creating drainage issues. The clients wanted a design sympathetic to the existing house aesthetic and layout that incorporated elements from their previous dwelling. They also wanted to include items their previous house had lacked; such as a large area to cook and entertain plus space for their teenage children to retreat to.
Design decisions were made based on the family’s priority on entertaining as well as the older childrens' involvement in competitive sport. An undersized existing kitchen and old fireplace were demolished; replaced with an ensuite, media room and lounge including a pop-out bay window in keeping with the aesthetic. The existing service area lean-to was demolished for a larger bathroom, laundry and storage area. A new standalone exposed rafter roof now covers an open plan kitchen and dining area out to a large covered deck. The deck has been designed with built-in planter boxes, stair access to the lawn and spa as well as screening to create privacy.

Colliers Kitchens
Inspired by the waves breaking just a stone’s throw away, this light and spacious kitchen is the ultimate seaside entertaining space.
Nordic Oak units and Venaro White worktops highlight the brightness of the room, while the mirrored splashbacks open up the corner, adding to the feeling of space. The dark colour of these splashbacks also adds the perfect amount of depth to the design. The most distinctive elements, though, are arguably the Aquamarine units, whose colour ties in beautifully with the sea view.
The generous L-shaped island gives the open-plan space cohesion, running parallel to the wall units and creating an elegant transition between the kitchen area and the rest of the room. The island also includes a seating area for four, enabling guests to join the host while they cook, before moving to the dinner table or sofa together.
Artistic Kitchens - Kristi Hodson
A lakefront cottage went through a huge transformation with new kitchen, flooring, fireplace, and paint throughout. It features grey and green shaker cabinets to the ceiling, matte black Quartz, open shelves, and light natural wood floors.
San Luis Kitchen Co.
Here we used Driftwood Glazed cabinets mixed with a slight off-white for a coastal rustic feel. Leathered granite is a nice touch on the counters -- and a nice texture to touch. Small details: the open shelf cabinets have driftwood interiors, the X panel at the peninsula, a panited tile mural at the cooktop splash.
