Breathe Design StudioCompleted in 2015, this project incorporates a Scandinavian vibe to enhance the modern architecture and farmhouse details. The vision was to create a balanced and consistent design to reflect clean lines and subtle rustic details, which creates a calm sanctuary. The whole home is not based on a design aesthetic, but rather how someone wants to feel in a space, specifically the feeling of being cozy, calm, and clean. This home is an interpretation of modern design without focusing on one specific genre; it boasts a midcentury master bedroom, stark and minimal bathrooms, an office that doubles as a music den, and modern open concept on the first floor. It’s the winner of the 2017 design award from the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and has been on the Tribeza Home Tour; in addition to being published in numerous magazines such as on the cover of Austin Home as well as Dwell Magazine, the cover of Seasonal Living Magazine, Tribeza, Rue Daily, HGTV, Hunker Home, and other international publications.

My Bespoke RoomThis client wanted plenty of storage, therefore their designer Lucy fitted in storage on either side of the fireplace, but she also found room for an enormous wardrobe on the other side of the room too and suggested painting both wardrobes the same colour as the wall behind to help them blend in. The artwork and the fireplace provide a great contrast against the blue walls which catches your eye instead.

Emilia DecorWe want a grown-up bedroom". These were the first words articulated to me when I met the owners of a gorgeous four-square in North Portland. My response was, "Well let's give that to you!". My clients were ready to invest in themselves and make their bedroom really feel like their own personal sanctuary. We chose to really highlight their amazing live edge alder headboard with a dark navy accent wall The effect is not just that of an accent wall, but more a FEATURE that sets the mood for the whole room. We accessorized the room with personal artifacts and framed photos of their honeymoon. This is now a place for grown-ups to grow in

We added a double-sided gas fireplace (facing the master bedroom and master bathroom) with 3D stone surround, reclaimed wood mantel and built-in storage niches. Carpeting was replaced, new window treatments were installed, updated furniture, lighting, bedding and accessories were also added.

The use of luxe materials and finishes such as polished nickel led lighting, a silk & wood area carpet and a custom built-in ribbon fireplace with TV and flanking cabinets, all harmonize to create an inviting master suite.
