Worthington Design & RemodelingCabinetry in a Mink finish was used for the bar cabinets and media built-ins. Ledge stone was used for the bar backsplash, bar wall and fireplace surround to create consistency throughout the basement.

MODE4 Architecture, PLLCThe design incorporates a two-sided open bookcase to separate the main living space from the back hall. The two-sided bookcase offers a filtered view to and from the back hall, allowing the space to feel open while supplying some privacy for the service areas. A stand-alone entertainment center acts as a room divider, with a TV wall on one side and a gallery wall on the opposite side. In addition, the ceiling height over the main space was made to feel taller by exposing the floor joists above.

Landmark Services IncOur clients owned a Greek Revival home in Cambridge that was becoming too small for their growing family. Instead of moving, they decided to make use of their entire basement and create a Family Room and an adjacent Projects Room/Spare Bedroom.
Finishing old basements pose several problems, chief of which is keeping the water out. So our first step was installing a waterproofing system consisting of a French drain beneath the slab and a membrane that we applied to the inside of the foundation walls.
With water taken care of, their goal of making full use of this space was a success. A cork floor, plastered walls and ceilings, some nice lighting and the space feels great.
CBH ArchitectsThis formerly unfinished basement in Montclair, NJ, has plenty of new space - a powder room, entertainment room, large bar, large laundry room and a billiard room. The client sourced a rustic bar-top with a mix of eclectic pieces to complete the interior design. MGR Construction Inc.; In House Photography.
TATCOR Building & RemodelingDue to the limited space and the budget, we chose to install a wall bar versus a two-level bar front. The wall bar included white cabinetry below a white/grey quartz counter top, open wood shelving, a drop-in sink, beverage cooler, and full fridge. For an excellent entertaining area along with a great view to the large projection screen, a half wall bar height top was installed with bar stool seating for four and custom lighting.

Chi Renovation & DesignA fun updated to a once dated basement. We renovated this client’s basement to be the perfect play area for their children as well as a chic gathering place for their friends and family. In order to accomplish this, we needed to ensure plenty of storage and seating. Some of the first elements we installed were large cabinets throughout the basement as well as a large banquette, perfect for hiding children’s toys as well as offering ample seating for their guests. Next, to brighten up the space in colors both children and adults would find pleasing, we added a textured blue accent wall and painted the cabinetry a pale green.
Upstairs, we renovated the bathroom to be a kid-friendly space by replacing the stand-up shower with a full bath. The natural stone wall adds warmth to the space and creates a visually pleasing contrast of design.
Lastly, we designed an organized and practical mudroom, creating a perfect place for the whole family to store jackets, shoes, backpacks, and purses.
