Emerick ArchitectsWith an open plan and exposed structure, every interior element had to be beautiful and functional. Here you can see the massive concrete fireplace as it defines four areas. On one side, it is a wood burning fireplace with firewood as it's artwork. On another side it has additional dish storage carved out of the concrete for the kitchen and dining. The last two sides pinch down to create a more intimate library space at the back of the fireplace.

jlynnrundeWe kept the sunroom from the original house and decided to use it as a dining room. In order to fit several people in the small space, we built a banquette on both walls. The banquette also doubles as extra storage for the small home. The table and café chairs were a Craig's List find for under $300 for the table and 6 chairs. The banquette was built by my brother and the cushions were made by my mom. They are a textured faux leather for easy clean up.
Office of Mark Armstrong ArchitectThe oversized bay window at breakfast area overlooks south-west oriented private lawn. Exterior overhangs provide shade in summer and sun in winter.
