Two Hands InteriorsPlaying with the light and dark finishes throughout the home brings energy to a calm palette and the neutral paints and allows the texture of the wood to shine. Lighting fixtures were chosen to either be minimal and sleek or to shine as the star in a room. This Nelson pendent brings the mid-century touch our clients were seeking in this space.

This 4 bed/4 bath warm contemporary residence achieved LEED Platinum certification. Edge House is near-net zero [HERS 6] and utilizes a wide array of cutting edge green technologies: a 10kW PV system, ground source heat pump, solar thermal system, fiberglass Alpen windows, a Kalwall+Nanogel skylight, non-toxic construction, ICFs, a fully-integrated home automation system, super-insulated walls, 100% engineered lumber, FSC reclaimed cedar siding, and Boulder’s first permitted grey water system. Edge House is ADA-compliant, was awarded “2009 Green Home of the Year” by the Colorado Home Builder’s Association, was named the Grand Prize winner from the 2010 Colorado Sustainable Design Awards, and was the recipient of Mountain Living’s 2011 Responsible Development Award.

MOJO HOME - Studio d'architecture d'intérieurA l'origine cet appartement ne possédait pas d'entrée - couloir. On accédait directement à la pièce principale, qui communiquait avec la chambre.

Imperfect InteriorsThe front door of the flat opens directly into the living area, so we included storage in the hallway for coats and somewhere to put a bag and shoes. As all of the rooms are visible from the living room, we included a display area to shield the bed and give privacy, as well as somewhere to store and display personal items and books. The kitchen was created using Ikea carcasses and bespoke door fronts.
H2D Architecture + DesignLarge sliding Japanese style shoji screens were designed by H2D Architecture + Design and custom built by Bush Woodcraft of Seattle. Each bedroom as a set of two screens that slide to close off the bedroom from the hall.
