White Sands Coastal DevelopmentWe remodeled this 5,400-square foot, 3-story home on ’s Second Street to give it a more current feel, with cleaner lines and textures. The result is more and less Old World Europe, which is exactly what we were going for. We worked with much of the client’s existing furniture, which has a southern flavor, compliments of its former South Carolina home. This was an additional challenge, because we had to integrate a variety of influences in an intentional and cohesive way.
We painted nearly every surface white in the 5-bed, 6-bath home, and added light-colored window treatments, which brightened and opened the space. Additionally, we replaced all the light fixtures for a more integrated aesthetic. Well-selected accessories help pull the space together, infusing a consistent sense of peace and comfort.
Orren Pickell Building GroupA curved leather bench is paired with side chairs. The chair backs are upholstered in the same leather with nailhead trim. The Window Pinnacle Clad Series casement windows are 9' tall and include a 28" tall fixed awning window on the bottom and a 78" tall casement on top.
Amy Carman DesignThis beautifully-appointed Tudor home is laden with architectural detail. Beautifully-formed plaster moldings, an original stone fireplace, and 1930s-era woodwork were just a few of the features that drew this young family to purchase the home, however the formal interior felt dark and compartmentalized. The owners enlisted Amy Carman Design to lighten the spaces and bring a modern sensibility to their everyday living experience. Modern furnishings, artwork and a carefully hidden TV in the dinette picture wall bring a sense of fresh, on-trend style and comfort to the home. To provide contrast, the ACD team chose a juxtaposition of traditional and modern items, creating a layered space that knits the client's modern lifestyle together the historic architecture of the home.
Dual Concept DesignA transitional dining room, where we incorporated the clients' antique dining table and paired it up with chairs that are a mix of upholstery and wooden accents. A traditional navy and cream rug anchors the furniture, and dark gray walls with accents of brass, mirror and some color in the artwork and accessories pull the space together.
Two Birds DesignWith plenty of natural light seeking through this once dark galley kitchen, the brightly painted walls and banquette gets the chance to show their true colours. The dark navy banquette is placed alongside a beautiful antique table, giving the space the character and personality that it deserves.
Kelly Martin InteriorsThis remodel was located in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. The dining room features authentic mid century modern furniture and a colorful Louis Poulsen pendant.
Mary Hannah InteriorsWe designed a sunny dining room outfitted with a bar cart for charming wining and dining for this young family, by Mary Hannah Interiors.
