Kaplan Thompson ArchitectsWe created an almost crystalline form that reflected the push and pull of the most important factors on the site: views directly to the NNW, an approach from the ESE, and of course, sun from direct south. To keep the size modest, we peeled away the excess spaces and scaled down any rooms that desired intimacy (the bedrooms) or did not require height (the pool room).

Spaces Renewed Original 1960’s small beach home. Added master bedroom/bathroom suite and expanded the kitchen with the extensive addition. Re routed stair case to have open concept foyer. All new interior finishes, plumbing and electrical. Outdoor room heavy timber construction craftsman style, major structural changes in order to create open concept living.
Rudloff Custom BuildersThis colonial home in Penn Valley, PA, needed a complete interior renovation. Working closely with the owners, we renovated all three floors plus the basement. Now the house is bright and light, featuring open layouts, loads of natural light, and a clean design maximizing family living areas. Highlights include:
- creating a guest suite in the third floor/attic
- installing custom millwork and moulding in the curved staircase and foyer
- creating a stunning, contemporary kitchen, with marble counter tops, white subway tile back splash, and an eating nook.

UserGray tiled floors create a light relief against the dark walls. Painting the architraves, skirting boards & internal doors the same colour as the walls keeps the lines 'clean' and not 'fussy'. The timber is accentuated against the darker colours and the open risers allows much needed natural light to flood into the space. Phtographer - Jessie May
