Swanson HomesThe owner’s suite closet provides direct, and convenient, access to the laundry room. We love how the matte black Whirlpool washer and dryer along with the white oak cabinetry contrast the warm white and gray tones of the Cambria “Torquay” countertops. A fun feature of this laundry room is the LG Styler, installed and ready to fulfill your at-home dry cleaning needs!
Progressive Design BuildThe laundry room was kept in the same space, adjacent to the mudroom and walk-in pantry. It features the same cherry wood cabinetry with plenty of countertop surface area for folding laundry. The laundry room is also designed with under-counter space for storing clothes hampers, tall storage for an ironing board, and storage for cleaning supplies. Unique to the space were custom built-in dog crates for our client’s canine companions, as well as special storage space for their dogs’ food.

Amazing SpacesThis is a multi-functional space serving as side entrance, mudroom, laundry room and walk-in pantry all within in a footprint of 125 square feet. The mudroom wish list included a coat closet, shoe storage and a bench, as well as hooks for hats, bags, coats, etc. which we located on its own wall. The opposite wall houses the laundry equipment and sink. The front-loading washer and dryer gave us the opportunity for a folding counter above and helps create a more finished look for the room. The sink is tucked in the corner with a faucet that doubles its utility serving chilled carbonated water with the turn of a dial.
The walk-in pantry element of the space is by far the most important for the client. They have a lot of storage needs that could not be completely fulfilled as part of the concurrent kitchen renovation. The function of the pantry had to include a second refrigerator as well as dry food storage and organization for many large serving trays and baskets. To maximize the storage capacity of the small space, we designed the walk-in pantry cabinet in the corner and included deep wall cabinets above following the slope of the ceiling. A library ladder with handrails ensures the upper storage is readily accessible and safe for this older couple to use on a daily basis.
A new herringbone tile floor was selected to add varying shades of grey and beige to compliment the faux wood grain laminate cabinet doors. A new skylight brings in needed natural light to keep the space cheerful and inviting. The cookbook shelf adds personality and a shot of color to the otherwise neutral color scheme that was chosen to visually expand the space.
Storage for all of its uses is neatly hidden in a beautifully designed compact package!
Paxton Place DesignLaundry room's are one of the most utilized spaces in the home so it's paramount that the design is not only functional but characteristic of the client. To continue with the rustic farmhouse aesthetic, we wanted to give our client the ability to walk into their laundry room and be happy about being in it. Custom laminate cabinetry in a sage colored green pairs with the green and white landscape scene wallpaper on the ceiling. To add more texture, white square porcelain tiles are on the sink wall, while small bead board painted green to match the cabinetry is on the other walls. The large sink provides ample space to wash almost anything and the brick flooring is a perfect touch of utilitarian that the client desired.
12/12 Architects & PlannersThis 6,000sf luxurious custom new construction 5-bedroom, 4-bath home combines elements of open-concept design with traditional, formal spaces, as well. Tall windows, large openings to the back yard, and clear views from room to room are abundant throughout. The 2-story entry boasts a gently curving stair, and a full view through openings to the glass-clad family room. The back stair is continuous from the basement to the finished 3rd floor / attic recreation room.
The interior is finished with the finest materials and detailing, with crown molding, coffered, tray and barrel vault ceilings, chair rail, arched openings, rounded corners, built-in niches and coves, wide halls, and 12' first floor ceilings with 10' second floor ceilings.
It sits at the end of a cul-de-sac in a wooded neighborhood, surrounded by old growth trees. The homeowners, who hail from Texas, believe that bigger is better, and this house was built to match their dreams. The brick - with stone and cast concrete accent elements - runs the full 3-stories of the home, on all sides. A paver driveway and covered patio are included, along with paver retaining wall carved into the hill, creating a secluded back yard play space for their young children.

Lasley Brahaney Architecture + ConstructionThis space, featuring original millwork and stone, previously housed the kitchen. Our architects reimagined the space to house the laundry, while still highlighting the original materials. It leads to the newly enlarged mudroom.
