Accoya WoodAccoya was used for all the superior decking and facades throughout the ‘Jungle House’ on Guarujá Beach. Accoya wood was also used for some of the interior paneling and room furniture as well as for unique MUXARABI joineries. This is a special type of joinery used by architects to enhance the aestetic design of a project as the joinery acts as a light filter providing varying projections of light throughout the day.
The architect chose not to apply any colour, leaving Accoya in its natural grey state therefore complimenting the beautiful surroundings of the project. Accoya was also chosen due to its incredible durability to withstand Brazil’s intense heat and humidity.

Adrienne DeRosaFranklin utilized as much of the barn's original layout as possible, which not only saved in construction costs, but also helped to maintain the integrity of the two-hundred-year-old structure. Rather than completely reconfigure the interior spaces, the designer worked within them and chose materials, such as this steel railing, that highlight and define each area.
Barn ProsThis home sits in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in beautiful Jackson Wyoming. Natural elements like stone, wood and leather combined with a warm color palette give this barn apartment a rustic and inviting feel. The footprint of the barn is 36ft x 72ft leaving an expansive 2,592 square feet of living space in the apartment as well as the barn below. Custom touches were added by the client with the help of their builder and include a deck off the side of the apartment with a raised dormer roof, roll-up barn entry doors and various decorative details. These apartment models can accommodate nearly any floor plan design you like. Posts that are located every 12ft support the structure meaning that walls can be placed in any configuration and are non-load baring.

Considerations were taken to personalization of every space to the owners' aesthetic taste and their lifestyle. The home features beautiful barrel vault ceilings and a vast open concept floor plan for entertaining. Oversized applications of scale throughout ensure that the special features get the presence they deserve without overpowering the spaces.
