Inspired by the luxurious hotels of Europe, we were inspired to keep the palette monochrome. but all the elements have strong lines that all work together to give a sense of drama. The amazing black and white geometric tiles take centre stage and greet everyone coming into this incredible double-fronted Victorian house. The stunning, architect-designed new staircase, is the beating heart of the house reconfiguration. A simple, sculptural form, runs like a spine from basement to top floor. The curves of this bespoke staircase work effortlessly with the stone of the floortiles and the wood of the staircase flooring. The windows which are seen on the left and right of the staircase, open the view from front to back of the house.

Boulevard House is an expansive, light filled home for a young family to grow into. It’s located on a steep site in Ivanhoe, Melbourne. The home takes advantage of a beautiful northern aspect, along with stunning views to trees along the Yarra River, and to the city beyond. Two east-west pavilions, linked by a central circulation core, use passive solar design principles to allow all rooms in the house to take advantage of north sun and cross ventilation, while creating private garden areas and allowing for beautiful views.

Our client chose a wool velvet by Ulster Carpets throughout six bedrooms, dressing rooms, landings and service staircases. The client opted for a bespoke taped stair runner carpet in Sisal by Crucial Trading from their Oriental collection to compliment the dark oak wood flooring, and age of the property. The carpet was cut to size on our first visit, taken to our workshop, and installed on our last day. The curved landing is a beautiful feature in this period property with the taped stair runner shadowing the curve perfectly.

The newly designed and created Entrance Hallway which sees stunning Janey Butler Studio design and style throughout. The newly vaulted Entrance is now home to a stunning 188 bronze bud LED chandelier, bespoke metal doors with antique glass. Double bespoke Oak doors and windows. Newly created curved elegant staircase with bespoke bronze handrail and beautiful furniture, art and accessories throughout.

Large Bespoke Staircase in Oak with Heavy Section Turned and Twisted Balustrades. Curved Sections to the Large Landing Gallery added more of a feature to it whilst the Double Volute and Cut String gave the staircase the grandeur it deserved.

This house was a big renovation project from an almost derelict building. We were asked to create this large oak Georgian inspired staircase and entrance hall. The brief was to create a staircase and hall with the architectural joinery details such as the doors,architraves, surrounds, panelling and staircase were to look like original elements of this country house.
