Kuche+CucinaA new boutique condominium building with only 29 residences in one of the most charming residential enclaves in Manhattan: 40 East End Avenue. In this dynamic collaboration with Gerner Kronick & Valcarel Architects and Deborah Berke Partners, Lightstone Group transcends the condominium status quo with the curated creation of nuanced individual residences designed to be true homes.
The custom high-gloss lacquer painted Italian kitchen cabinetry, by Pedini, is complemented with hand-selected Italian Arabescato Cervaiole marble slabs. Upper cabinet doors feature a unique woven metal mesh panel and bevelled trim, adding a refined pattern to the kitchen composition. The state-of-the-art appliances by Gaggenau and the substantial kitchen island are as vital to cooking as they are to entertaining.
The master bathroom, featuring a 6 foot soaking tub, walk-in shower and private water closet, is clad in Arabescato Cervaiole marble in a high-honed finish, complemented by fluted mirrored glass panels, Pedini custom Italian vanity and Waterworks Henry fixtures in polished nickel.
CAGE Design BuildA chef's and baker's dream kitchen. This kitchen has it all. A pullout baking center with plenty of room to work, and custom pull outs for all baking needs. The range area is equipped with hidden hood. Custom spice pull out close by for ease of cooking. Each cabinet in this kitchen has a special purpose.
Kitchen Design ConceptsIn our world of kitchen design, it’s lovely to see all the varieties of styles come to life. From traditional to modern, and everything in between, we love to design a broad spectrum. Here, we present a two-tone modern kitchen that has used materials in a fresh and eye-catching way. With a mix of finishes, it blends perfectly together to create a space that flows and is the pulsating heart of the home.
With the main cooking island and gorgeous prep wall, the cook has plenty of space to work. The second island is perfect for seating – the three materials interacting seamlessly, we have the main white material covering the cabinets, a short grey table for the kids, and a taller walnut top for adults to sit and stand while sipping some wine! I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend time in this kitchen?!
Cabinetry
With a tuxedo trend look, we used Cabico Elmwood New Haven door style, walnut vertical grain in a natural matte finish. The white cabinets over the sink are the Ventura MDF door in a White Diamond Gloss finish.
Countertops
The white counters on the perimeter and on both islands are from Caesarstone in a Frosty Carrina finish, and the added bar on the second countertop is a custom walnut top (made by the homeowner!) with a shorter seated table made from Caesarstone’s Raw Concrete.
Backsplash
The stone is from Marble Systems from the Mod Glam Collection, Blocks – Glacier honed, in Snow White polished finish, and added Brass.
Fixtures
A Blanco Precis Silgranit Cascade Super Single Bowl Kitchen Sink in White works perfect with the counters. A Waterstone transitional pulldown faucet in New Bronze is complemented by matching water dispenser, soap dispenser, and air switch. The cabinet hardware is from Emtek – their Trinity pulls in brass.
Appliances
The cooktop, oven, steam oven and dishwasher are all from Miele. The dishwashers are paneled with cabinetry material (left/right of the sink) and integrate seamlessly Refrigerator and Freezer columns are from SubZero and we kept the stainless look to break up the walnut some. The microwave is a counter sitting Panasonic with a custom wood trim (made by Cabico) and the vent hood is from Zephyr.
Kowalske Kitchen & BathCreating a space to entertain was the top priority in this Mukwonago kitchen remodel. The homeowners wanted seating and counter space for hosting parties and watching sports. By opening the dining room wall, we extended the kitchen area. We added an island and custom designed furniture-style bar cabinet with retractable pocket doors. A new awning window overlooks the backyard and brings in natural light. Many in-cabinet storage features keep this kitchen neat and organized.
Bar Cabinet
The furniture-style bar cabinet has retractable pocket doors and a drop-in quartz counter. The homeowners can entertain in style, leaving the doors open during parties. Guests can grab a glass of wine or make a cocktail right in the cabinet.
Outlet Strips
Outlet strips on the island and peninsula keeps the end panels of the island and peninsula clean. The outlet strips also gives them options for plugging in appliances during parties.
Modern Farmhouse Design
The design of this kitchen is modern farmhouse. The materials, patterns, color and texture define this space. We used shades of golds and grays in the cabinetry, backsplash and hardware. The chevron backsplash and shiplap island adds visual interest.
Custom Cabinetry
This kitchen features frameless custom cabinets with light rail molding. It’s designed to hide the under cabinet lighting and angled plug molding. Putting the outlets under the cabinets keeps the backsplash uninterrupted.
Storage Features
Efficient storage and organization was important to these homeowners.
We opted for deep drawers to allow for easy access to stacks of dishes and bowls.
Under the cooktop, we used custom drawer heights to meet the homeowners’ storage needs.
A third drawer was added next to the spice drawer rollout.
Narrow pullout cabinets on either side of the cooktop for spices and oils.
The pantry rollout by the double oven rotates 90 degrees.

Staircase – We updated the staircase with a barn wood newel post and matte black balusters
Fireplace – We whitewashed the fireplace and added a barn wood mantel and pilasters.

Woodsman Kitchens and FloorsStunning kitchen with quarter-sawn white oak cabinetry and custom bench combined with polar white painted maple. The main top is an exotic marble
and the expansive waterfall island features a durable and modern white quartz. Also boasts a gorgeous custom hood, light oak floors, fun fabrics, woven window coverings, designer lighting and hardware and a separate wet bar with a custom peach color and polar white uppers. Everything one could need for an active family living at the coast.
FlooretInspired by sandy shorelines on the California coast, this beachy blonde vinyl floor brings just the right amount of variation to each room. With the Modin Collection, we have raised the bar on luxury vinyl plank. The result is a new standard in resilient flooring. Modin offers true embossed in register texture, a low sheen level, a rigid SPC core, an industry-leading wear layer, and so much more.
Ann Lowengart InteriorsWe juxtaposed bold colors and contemporary furnishings with the early twentieth-century interior architecture for this four-level Pacific Heights Edwardian. The home's showpiece is the living room, where the walls received a rich coat of blackened teal blue paint with a high gloss finish, while the high ceiling is painted off-white with violet undertones. Against this dramatic backdrop, we placed a streamlined sofa upholstered in an opulent navy velour and companioned it with a pair of modern lounge chairs covered in raspberry mohair. An artisanal wool and silk rug in indigo, wine, and smoke ties the space together.
Erica Peale DesignThis bold black and white modern kitchen is a workhorse! Double islands fill the grand space with loads of storage and counter surface for food preparation and entertaining. A mix of black lower cabinets with white upper cabinetry is softened with beautiful brass hardware and lighting. A marble herringbone tile lends organic texture and walnut accents warm the space.
Chirigos Designs / Design BarA true grand haven custom build for a family of five. Their desire for a retreat and openness to creative use of color lends a uniqueness to this traditional cape-cod style home. White oak flooring set the stage for custom cabinetry throughout.
Francesco Pierazzi ArchitectsThe large open space continues the themes set out in the Living and Dining areas with a similar palette of darker surfaces and finishes, chosen to create an effect that is highly evocative of past centuries, linking new and old with a poetic approach.
The dark grey concrete floor is a paired with traditional but luxurious Tadelakt Moroccan plaster, chose for its uneven and natural texture as well as beautiful earthy hues.
The supporting structure is exposed and painted in a deep red hue to suggest the different functional areas and create a unique interior which is then reflected on the exterior of the extension.
