Contemporary kitchen with clever storage ideas

This Mid Century inspired kitchen was manufactured for a couple who definitely didn't want a traditional 'new' fitted kitchen as part of their extension to a 1930's house in a desirable Manchester suburb. The walk in pantry was fitted into a bricked up recess previously occupied by a range. U-shaped shelves and larder racks mean there is plenty of storage for food meaning none needs to be stored in the kitchen cabinets. Strip LED lighting illuminates the interior. Photo: Ian Hampson

A bespoke kitchen fitted into the lower ground floor of a grade 2 listed georgian townhouse. Painted in Farrow & Ball - Citron with a carrara marble worktop and splasbhack. Featuring a belfast style sink, chequerboard marble flooring and timber accents.

This kitchen features a transitional style with shaker cabinets and an island that has a shaker design on its base. The island is topped with a white 40mm stone benchtop that adds a touch of elegance and durability. The kitchen is bright and spacious, with plenty of storage and counter space for cooking and entertaining.

Formica Clementine pairs with Arpa Bianco Nube wall units and a natural oak veneered plywood island. Clementine bench seating, oak Urtil shelving units and internal drawers add a custom hand-built feel to the project. All using IKEA cabinets. Wall units feature invisi-pull doors for a clean, slab front look. The Clementine section includes matching J-Profile handles and edge-banded cover panels. The result is this fantastic kitchen made from birch plywood with oak veneers and Sol formica fronts. These formica fronts are very hardwearing and will stand up to knocks and scratches that would ruin a painted kitchen. Perfect for this family and their 2 dogs!

The kitchen in this remodeled 1960s house is colour-blocked against a blue panelled wall which hides a pantry. White quartz worktop bounces dayight around the kitchen. Geometric splash back adds interest. The tiles are encaustic tiles handmade in Spain. A birch plywood kitchen renovation in a tranquil cottage extension transforming a dysfunctional space that needed the room completely turning around. Using a mix of in-frame painted plywood cabinets on the upper run, with over-lay plywood frames along the bottom. Complete with everhot range for a more sustainable approach to always-on range, with a central island and bar seating.
