John Bost Custom WoodworkingThis is a custom wall cabinet that I made to my daughter's specifications for her laundry closet. It is 18" deep to make it easier for her to reach the doors and shelves and to provide extra space for the drying rack. The cabinet is made of 3/4" melamine board for easy cleaning. The drying rack frame is made of maple, and the drying rods are made of poplar, all covered with 3 coats of polyurethane for moisture protection.
Carrie Hayward DesignMy weaknesses are vases, light fixtures and wallpaper. When I fell in love with Cole & Son’s Aldwych Albemarle wallpaper, the laundry room was the last available place to put it!

Design for ChangeA little country style pizzaz was added to the new laundry room with a dark blue-gray paint (Black Pepper by Benjamin Moore) and birch tree stenciling.
Colour Confidence InteriorsLarge format matt tiles to the floor and 300 x 600 horizontal gloss tiles to the walls are a great backdrop for rows the textured timber cabinets, both below and above bench. Dark timber and rattan accessories add a tropical vibe with the over-scaled green bottles the only hit of colour.

Inspiration was from some Disney cruise photos she had.
Nautical textures, brass, colors inspired from the cruise ships. Princess family tree photos, wainscot inspired by the ship striping, smoke stack ironing board....
