Creative EnvironmentsThe family room is our relaxing room with a fire place in the corner, a 72" High Def TV surrounded by natural stone. The floors are Hickory wood 3/4" thick with hydronic heating under the wood floors. This room has an abundance of natural light.
Brandie McCoy, CKDThe fireplace is simplistic with sophisticated details. Large format slate tiles were hand selected for the right balance of color in this highly variable stone. The beam from which the mantle was built is reclaimed from an old Barnum & Bailey barn and refinished by a local craftsman who also added the locally picked rail road ties to complete the design. To give the space more dimension, we furred out the surrounding area on which the slate was applied to create this inset of leathered black granite. The granite texture pulls in the hand forged iron on the doors and iron pegs on the beam. The room was completed by the this one of a kind artemedis fan that also has rustic materials and a contemporary flair.

Sopris HomesThis is the 2009 Metro Denver HBA "Raising the Bar" award winning "Custom Home of the Year" and "Best Urban in-fill Home of the Year". This custom residence was sits on a hillside with amazing views of Boulder's Flatirons mountain range in the scenic Chautauqua neighborhood. The owners wanted to be able to enjoy their mountain views and Sopris helped to create a living space that worked to synergize with the outdoors and wrapped the spaces around an amazing water feature and patio area.

Tom Meaney Architect, AIAThe design objective for this six acre ocean view parcel in Montecito was to create a literal replication of an 1800's California hacienda. Four adobe structures define the central courtyard while secondary terraces and walled gardens expand the living areas towards the views and morning light. Simple, rustic details and traditional, handmade materials evoke a lifestyle of a distant era.
