Mandeville Canyon DesignsThis parlor room was designed to give the homeowner a tranquil place to read, meditate, and listen to music. We chose to mix styles combining more modern elements such as the hanging pendant with old pine pieces such as the repurposed table, originally used to weigh livestock. One of our favorite repurposed itemss are the candle sconces from Spain. Originally roof tiles, it is reported that they are made by laying the wet material across the tilers lap. Women were used for the job as their thighs were slimmer and more shapely. Lucky us!

Lisa Stewart DesignThis warm and cozy family has everything you need. Soft fabrics on sofa with comfy pillows. Leather chairs and two ottomans. Beautiful artwork above the fireplace and built-in bookshelves for display. We updated with wall color. The Entry Hall and Great Room is Benjamin Moore Adobe Beige AC-7. We used the homeowners existing furnishings and purchased a few new things. The change was significant and the homeowner delighted!

The empty “before” photos show the space as a long and narrow living room off the kitchen. Without our visuals, buyers would focus on the bright yellow paint and worry about how to best use the awkward living room. Another concern was the lack of a kitchen table space. So my planning provided a space for enjoying the fireplace focal point (over which a TV could be installed) and a separate conversation grouping on the far end. The end of the family room closest to the kitchen would provide a natural space for a kitchen table to allow gathering and meal space for an active family.
