Thyme & Place Design LLCMy clients always wanted a fireplace in the family room but could not build the necessary chimney due to building restrictions. To overcome this obstacle we installed an Eco Smart bio fuel fireplace. which became the focal point of the room. Next we added custom cabinetry for storage which coordinated with the kitchen (which is an open room adjacent to this space). Custom furnishings from American Leather and Hickory Chair were selected for my tall client. High performance fabrics were selected to provide worry free enjoyment of the furniture. Finishing accent pieces from Charleston Forge add a warm and contemporary vibe to the pace. The dark stain is a beautiful contrast to the lighter colorway. As you can see there are 2 skylights and 2 very large windows so light is not a problem but sun and heat are. With the height of the ceilings, we needed a large but good looking ceiling fan to control the temperature. An oversize custom ceiling fan was chosen. The walls are a coordinated blue grey to compliment the Venetian plaster finished fireplace column. The rear wall is painted a contrasting color to highlight the fireplace and the built in cherry cabinetry. a Vintage Patchwork rug defines the furniture area and helps soften the sound in the room Custom artwork by the clients mother add the final touches. Architekturbüro Next HabitatHaus R wurde als quadratischer Wohnkörper konzipert, welcher sich zur Erschließungsseite differenziert. Mit seinen großzügigen Wohnbereichen öffnet sich das ebenerdige Gebäude zu den rückwärtigen Freiflächen und fließt in den weitläufigen Außenraum.
Eine gestaltprägende Holzverschalung im Außenbereich, akzentuierte Materialien im Innenraum, sowie die Kombination mit großformatigen Verglasungen setzen das Gebäude bewußt in Szene.

Rudloff Custom BuildersThe light filled, step down family room has a custom, vaulted tray ceiling and double sets of French doors with aged bronze hardware leading to the patio. Tucked away in what looks like a closet, the built-in home bar has Sub-Zero drink drawers. The gorgeous Rumford double-sided fireplace (the other side is outside on the covered patio) has a custom-made plaster moulding surround with a beige herringbone tile insert.

Modern House with expansive views with metal, wood and cement plaster siding. The shed roof slope in various direction giving individual character to each space.
I was the Architect and helped coordinate with various sub-contractors. I also co-designed the project with various consultants including Interior and Landscape Design
Almost always and in this case I do my best to draw out the creativity of my clients, even when they think that they are not creative. This house is a perfect example of that with much of the client's vision and creative drive infused into the house.

K Two Designs, Inc.A cohesive and color forward great room is at once comfortable and exciting Symmetry is achieved by facing sofas and bookshelves to keep the room calm. MIdcentury and art deco live together quite comfortably in this room with a midcentury Sarineen round table and French chairs covered in a mid century Jonathan Adler fabric. Art deco mirrored coffee table and blue and emerald green serve to bring in the art deco side.
