Denise Quade DesignThis large family room has two entrances. The one on the left leads to the mudroom/garage area and also outdoor patio and features quick easy access to the kitchen bar area. The other end is right off the kitchen. A warm red was used and carried through in the furnishings. Seating for eight and a large coffee table grounds the space.
Meyer DesignThis family room ceiling is accented with reclaimed barn wood beams that are suspended from the ceiling with wrought iron brackets. This is a ceiling treatment inspired by rail road ties.

Olamar InteriorsThis modern family wanted a home to match. They purchased a beautiful home in Ashburn and wanted the interiors to clean lined, sleek but also colorful. The builder-grade fireplace was given a very modern look with new tile from Porcelanosa and custom made wood mantle. The awkward niches was also given a new look and new purpose with a custom built-in. Both the mantle and built-in were made by Ark Woodworking. We warmed the space with a pop of warm color on the left side of the fireplace wall and balanced with with modern art to the right. A very unique modern chandelier centers the entire design. A large custom leather sectional and coordinating stools provides plenty of seating.

The Stove Shop Fireplace CenterThis is a Peterson Real Fyre direct vent gas insert that we installed in a 1920's farmhouse. It has a dual burner so you can enjoy the fire without too much heat and a variable speed blower. Since it is direct vent you are not using heated room air for combustion and the by-product of combustion is going out the flue.
Jane EllisonThis inviting media room mixes a traditional sectional with a Moroccan inspirered kilm rug and leopard pillow under a vaulted ceiling. Brick red accent wall adds vibrancy and soft billowy Roman shade soften the architectural eyebrow windows.
Beige and orange. When a comfortable, cozy look is what you want, turn to natural shades of orange (with a little brown in them), beige and off-white. Pair these warm tones with rich red walls and natural fibers.
Denise Quade DesignA pass through was designed between the sunken family room and kitchen bar. Two entrances and a pass through ensures that conversations and people flow easily through both rooms when the family is entertaining. It also allows the light from both spaces to flood the entire area.
