Master Bedroom Ensuite with Full Height Italian Marble Tiling, Hand Crafted Timber Framed Mirror Frames, Large Spa Bath, Double Shower, Caesarstone Benchtops
Studio MMA Architecture + DesignThis interior design project was customizing a condominium unit to the taste of the new owners, while respecting the budget and priorities thereof.
First, the existing bathroom on the mezzanine was enlarged across the width of the room to incorporate a large freestanding bath in the center of a generous and relaxing space. Large translucent sliding doors and an interior window have been added to let as much natural light into space as possible. The bath is highlighted by a wall of wooden slats backlit. All of the bathroom furniture and the new doors and windows were made by a cabinetmaker in the same colors as the slatted wall in order to unify these elements throughout the dwelling.
At the entrance, in front of the kitchen, a column of classic inspiration has been replaced by a structural piece of furniture that divides the two spaces while incorporating additional storage and decorative alcoves. Near the ceiling of the cathedral space, a new tinted window allows natural light to enter the skylights at the top of the previously dark office.

UserFree standing tub sitting on pebble / river rock tile to give the illusion of a rock garden beneath the tub. Wall tile 12 x 24 porcelain in a warm earth tone. Tub filler is a floor mounted free standing spout.

The sunken Aker bathtub and custom shower with a Hansgrohe showerhead and Grohe shower valve both utilize previously unrealized space in this attic master bathroom. They benefit from ample natural light from large windows, and NuHeat underfloor heating ensures you will be toasty warm stepping out of the bath or shower. The Medallion vanity cabinet is topped by a Cambria countertop and Kohler vessel sink and faucet.
House to Home SolutionsThis young couple spends part of the year in Japan and part of the year in the US. Their request was to fit a traditional Japanese bathroom into their tight space on a budget and create additional storage. The footprint remained the same on the vanity/toilet side of the room. In the place of the existing shower, we created a linen closet and in the place of the original built in tub we created a wet room with a shower area and a deep soaking tub.
European Stone Tile & Design, Inc.Greenlake/ Fremont neighborhood, 4th floor condominium master bathroom remodel. We transformed a 1990's bathroom that had a full wall length tub and small shower enclosure to be opened up for a full length curbless shower. Client was seeking an Asian inspired bathroom to reflect years spent living abroad. We achieved that with large 12x35" format tile on the back wall and 18x18 on the returns. The back wall tiles had a bamboo graining textured surface tile paired with a 3D tile inset into the niche. The complete open, barrier free shower created the "open spa" concept. Utilizing quartz on her oak grained, slab face floating cabinetry helped tie in the final details to create a more transitional feel.
YORK ENTERPRISES LLCThe homeowners' dreamed of an Ofuro style soaking tub. We worked together to make that a reality. Our employees custom milled a surround of Ofuro cedar for the soaking tub. A cedar shelf holds the mirrors. The vanity is floating with a toe kick light. The tiled shower is sloped towards a curtain drain. The shower boasts a tiled bench, niche and wand with a rain shower head. The toilet is separated from the main room by a custom obscure glass panel.
