MTR Landscape ArchitectsView of Sinquefield Lake, Dock House, and boardwalk from the entrance road on a misty fall morning. The lake is sited in a former pasture surrounded by oak forest, which was preserved along the shoreline. Intrinsic LandscapesThis oriental-themed landscape invokes a feeling of tranquillity and serenity, whether the occasion is simply relaxation or friendly entertainment. Immediately connected to the outdoor kitchen area is a beautiful bluestone koi pool with water plants, fish and steppers, which leads to the spotted gum decking area and corten steel firepit. Under-lighting of the floating benches surrounding the decking creates a stunning seating area.
The most visually striking feature piece of the landscape is without doubt the enormous Buddha, installed against stone cladding, rendered walls and timber screening. Incredibly impressive! Enhancing the oriental theme is an abundance of lush vegetation surrounding the entire area – clumping bamboo, a massive bird of paradise, trees, under-planting and a luscious lawn. Strategically placed garden lighting makes for a spectacular outdoor entertainment area for these lucky clients in Maribyrnong.
Mediterrasian LandscapesThis creative couple wanted their backyard divided into several spaces for multiple uses. Nearest the house is a concrete patio for lounging and entertaining. The middle area has raised beds for vegetable gardening and rounded pea gravel where their toddler can play safely. A lovely dry creek bed with river rocks and plants divides that area from the rear section. There you will find a metal sculptor's shed and a paver patio that surrounds the lemon tree, providing access to plant beds and a viewing area for whimsical, homemade sculptures.

Amber Freda Garden DesignWe love the night and day transformation this garden took on when our client requested a zen garden for her backyard in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. It’s always fun to be asked to design a garden with so many charming creative elements. Our re-design included brown bamboo fencing to cover a very bright white vinyl fence, a fountain, loose grey stones, dark brown deck tiles, contemporary furnishings, a stone Japanese lantern statue, and white fiberglass planters. The plantings include cherry laurels, bamboo, a red weeping maple, moss, grasses, and variegated euonymus. Overhead globe lights add a cheerful nighttime touch.
