Maison 1995Située dans un appartement en duplex, au troisième étage d’un immeuble de 1923, ma mission était de transformer cette ancienne salle de jeux de 9.1 m² en une chambre d’enfant.
L’objectif étant de permettre aux futurs et heureux parents d’accueillir leur premier enfant, en toute quiétude. Bébé n’ayant pas encore révélé son secret à Papa et Maman au moment du projet, il était important de créer un environnement mixte, cosy et lumineux.
La surface demandait à ce qu’on l’optimise et à ce qu’on la rende la plus fonctionnelle possible.
Roots of NVCustom- made Nursery for under $1000 is possible!!! I spelt many sleepless nights overthinking the design concept and lout for my first born's nursery. I have always loved designing children's rooms and nurseries and now it was finally my turn and I had all the freedom I wanted to design it, minus the big belly getting in the way and a tighter budget!
Although we knew what we were having ( I don't know a designer who wouldn't want to know the sex!) I wanted to keep the room very neutral, and definitely no pink! The inspiration of this room was delivered obviously from over pinteresting countless nursery rooms, and I was always gravitating towards soft neutrals and subdle hints of colour. So I began my design layout and search for all the furniture and décor I needed.... Let me tell you it was not EASY! We didn't have a lot to spend on the nursery and given my taste, everything I came close to liking enough was from restoration hardware or pottery barn..... SOOO I decided to UPCYLCE and it turned out perfectly! Even better than I imagined!!! All the furniture minus the rocking chair was given to us for free and so I antiqued it all using chalk paint and distressed it. The rocker was not origionally a rocking chair, the chair is from IKEA and we went out and took off a swivel rocking base off an old ugly rocker and built it onto the bottom of the IKEA chair! (

The crib was painted in a warm gold paint, the hand-me-down ivory dresser was given new life being painted with contrasting charcoal grey drawer fronts and adorned with antique brass library pulls. The crystal chandelier adds a touch of sophistication and glamour, while being something that brings a giggle and smile to the face of the little girl who’s frequently lifted up to touch and play with the crystals.

Joyful LivingDas Kinderzimmer sollte gut strukturiert, freundlich und gemütlich werden und keinesfalls ein klassisch rosa oder hellblaues Zimmer. So entschieden wir uns für eine Farbplatte aus Grün-, Weiß-, Grau- und Beigetönen. Es gibt große Schubladen, die viel Spielzeug aufnehmen können und gut strukturiert sind, damit man einerseits alles findet und andererseits auch schnell alles wieder aufgeräumt ist. Thema des Zimmers ist die Natur.
