Southern Builders of Louisiana
Southern Builders is a commercial and residential builder located in the New Orleans area. We have been serving Southeast Louisiana and Mississippi since 1980, building single family homes, custom homes, apartments, condos, and commercial buildings.
We believe in working close with our clients, whether as a subcontractor or a general contractor. Our success comes from building a team between the owner, the architects and the workers in the field. If your design demands that southern charm, it needs a team that will bring professional leadership and pride to your project. Southern Builders is that team. We put your interest and personal touch into the small details that bring large results.

This nursery was designed for maximum style on a realistic budget. Hand blocked wallpaper was added to the ceiling to give it a slight Moroccan feel and then contrasted with the chinoiserie drapery and splatter painted slipcover on a nursery glider.

Our clients wanted a space-themed nursery, focusing on the message, "shoot for the stars!" for their new baby boy. We loved this concept and took it to the next level by implementing subtle details of outer space through color, texture, and other elements. Our goal was for the client to love the space and to make it versatile enough for our client's baby to use the furniture as they grow older.

Baby Boy Nursery fit for a Prince with a Rustic but Luxe feel, finished with custom gold accents, and themed with mountains and mountain animals. Theme colors were mixed with grey, black, cherrywood, orange, teal, and beige. Items upcycled were the carpet, and bookcase that didn't go 100% with the theme, but I made it work as it was important to functionality and cost. Mountain wall mural was custom designed and have hints of shimmer at the peaks for snow illusion and gold line work to add to the luxe feel.

And now, the functional corner of the room. All the rocking, burping and changing happens here. We found the perfect dresser and swapped the knobs to make it playful. The changing table has extra room for diapers and wipes. The Glider is in child proof sunbrella upholstery and it has performed as expected already. The floor lamp and the Miffy lamp have dimmers and are fitted with smart bulbs to be controlled by the phone.

The 70th Street project started as an empty and non-functional attic space. We designed a completely new master suite, including a new bathroom, walk-in closet, bedroom and nursery for our clients. The space had many challenges because of its sloped and low ceilings. We embraced those challenges and used the ceiling slopes to our advantage to make the attic feel more spacious overall, as well as more functional for our clients.

A baby boy’s nursery we designed has both plenty of functional and comfortable features. Through plenty of soft textiles - cushions, chairs, and blankets - we gave the space a calming ambiance with plenty of neutral greys and pops of soft blues. For a timeless look, we installed classic wall panels, which showcase a fun, eye-popping contrast between the panel outline and wall. An upholstered storage bench was also installed, ensuring easy clean-up of toys and other accessories, as well as an extra place to sit and play with the baby boy.
Home located in Studio City, California. Project designed by Miami interior design firm, Charles Neal Interiors. They serve nationwide, with much activity in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Palm Beach, as well as Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta.

Originally a home office, this space was converted into a dreamy nursery. The design began with a whimsical wallpaper, primarily neutral with subtle pinks and turquoise. The gender of the baby was to be a surprise, so the design remained gender neutral, focusing on texture and pattern rather than a traditional color scheme.

A zoo gone wild was the inspiration for the twin boy's bedroom. Escaping, on 2 biplanes, are six adventurous leather stuffed animals. A hand painted wall mural highlights the walnut furnishings and completed by a statement carpet.
