Babette Kempfer Raumkonzeptees handelt sich hier um ein innenliegendes Bad, welches zu einer Eigentumswohnung gehört. Die Eigentümerin wünschte sich einen natürlichen Lichteinfall im innenliegenden Bad dieser Einzimmerwohnung. Wir haben hier also diese 3 "Bubbles" -3 unterschiedlich große runde Festverglasungen zum Flur hin geplant und einbauen lassen, die zu jeder Zeit einen natürlichen Lichteinfall zulassen. Da es sich um eine 2-Zimmerwohnung für eine Person handelt und die Öffnungen gegenüber der Eingangstür liegen, ist durch die Lage keine unmittelbare Einsehbarkeit gegeben.Außerdem haben wir die durch den Investor einfach geschlossene Wand durch praktische beleuchtete Nischen erweitert, da der Raum sowieso da war und er sonst nicht genutzt worden wäre.

Set on the 2nd floor of a 1950’s modernist apartment building in the sought after Sydney Lower North Shore suburb of Mosman, this apartments only bathroom was in dire need of a lift. The building itself well kept with features of oversized windows/sliding doors overlooking lovely gardens, concrete slab cantilevers, great orientation for capturing the sun and those sleek 50’s modern lines.
It is home to Stephen & Karen, a professional couple who renovated the interior of the apartment except for the lone, very outdated bathroom. That was still stuck in the 50’s – they saved the best till last.
Structural Challenges
Very small room - 3.5 sq. metres;

Design Statement
You could not swing a cat in there! Function and efficiency of flow is paramount with small spaces and ensuring there was a single transition area was on top of the designer’s mind. The bathroom had to be easy to use, and the lines had to be clean and minimal to compliment the 1950’s architecture (and to make this tiny space feel bigger than it actual was). As the bath was not used regularly, it was the first item to be removed. This freed up floor space and enhanced the flow as considered above.
Due to the thin nature of the walls and plumbing constraints, the designer built up the wall (basin elevation) in parts to allow the plumbing to be reconfigured. This added depth also allowed for ample recessed overhead mirrored wall storage and a niche to be built into the shower. As the overhead units provided enough storage the basin was wall hung with no storage under. This coupled with the large format light coloured tiles gave the small room the feeling of space it required. The oversized tiles are effortless to clean, as is the solid surface material of the washbasin. The lighting is also enhanced by these materials and therefore kept quite simple. LEDS are fixed above and below the joinery and also a sensor activated LED light was added under the basin to offer a touch a tech to the owners. The renovation of this bathroom is the final piece to complete this apartment reno, and as such this 50’s wonder is ready to live on in true modern style.

Cleary Bathroom DesignThis family bathroom holds atmosphere and warmth created using different textures, ambient and feature lighting. Not only is it beautiful space but also quite functional. The shower hand hose was made long enough for our client to clean the bath area. A glass panel contains the wet-room area and also leaves the length of the room uninterrupted.

Ensoul LtdWe've used porcelain tiles on the walls that look just like real onyx. This together with frameless shower glass and wall hung sanitaryware make this simple bathroom absolutely beautiful. A roof light above brings in masses of light which is bounced around by the wall of mirror. Floating shelves enable decorative accessories and a place for guests to put their toiletries.

This large light-filled open loft in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City was purchased by a growing family to make into their family home. The loft, previously a lighting showroom, had been converted for residential use with the standard amenities but was entirely open and therefore needed to be reconfigured. One of the best attributes of this particular loft is its extremely large windows situated on all four sides due to the locations of neighboring buildings. This unusual condition allowed much of the rear of the space to be divided into 3 bedrooms/3 bathrooms, all of which had ample windows. The kitchen and the utilities were moved to the center of the space as they did not require as much natural lighting, leaving the entire front of the loft as an open dining/living area. The overall space was given a more modern feel while emphasizing it’s industrial character. The original tin ceiling was preserved throughout the loft with all new lighting run in orderly conduit beneath it, much of which is exposed light bulbs. In a play on the ceiling material the main wall opposite the kitchen was clad in unfinished, distressed tin panels creating a focal point in the home. Traditional baseboards and door casings were thrown out in lieu of blackened steel angle throughout the loft. Blackened steel was also used in combination with glass panels to create an enclosure for the office at the end of the main corridor; this allowed the light from the large window in the office to pass though while creating a private yet open space to work. The master suite features a large open bath with a sculptural freestanding tub all clad in a serene beige tile that has the feel of concrete. The kids bath is a fun play of large cobalt blue hexagon tile on the floor and rear wall of the tub juxtaposed with a bright white subway tile on the remaining walls. The kitchen features a long wall of floor to ceiling white and navy cabinetry with an adjacent 15 foot island of which half is a table for casual dining. Other interesting features of the loft are the industrial ladder up to the small elevated play area in the living room, the navy cabinetry and antique mirror clad dining niche, and the wallpapered powder room with antique mirror and blackened steel accessories.
Style Within LimitedSmall freestanding bath adjacent to wall hung pan makes the small bathroom feel spacious. To the left is the shower area protected by hinged glass screen when in use.
