Janey Butler InteriorsThis existing three storey Victorian Villa was completely redesigned, altering the layout on every floor and adding a new basement under the house to provide a fourth floor.
After under-pinning and constructing the new basement level, a new cinema room, wine room, and cloakroom was created, extending the existing staircase so that a central stairwell now extended over the four floors.
On the ground floor, we refurbished the existing parquet flooring and created a ‘Club Lounge’ in one of the front bay window rooms for our clients to entertain and use for evenings and parties, a new family living room linked to the large kitchen/dining area. The original cloakroom was directly off the large entrance hall under the stairs which the client disliked, so this was moved to the basement when the staircase was extended to provide the access to the new basement.
First floor was completely redesigned and changed, moving the master bedroom from one side of the house to the other, creating a new master suite with large bathroom and bay-windowed dressing room. A new lobby area was created which lead to the two children’s rooms with a feature light as this was a prominent view point from the large landing area on this floor, and finally a study room.
On the second floor the existing bedroom was remodelled and a new ensuite wet-room was created in an adjoining attic space once the structural alterations to forming a new floor and subsequent roof alterations were carried out.
A comprehensive FF&E package of loose furniture and custom designed built in furniture was installed, along with an AV system for the new cinema room and music integration for the Club Lounge and remaining floors also.
RI StudioSpanish meets modern in this Dallas spec home. A unique carved paneled front door sets the tone for this well blended home. Mixing the two architectural styles kept this home current but filled with character and charm.
KH Home Design and FurnishingsThis large bathroom remodel feature a clawfoot soaking tub, a large glass enclosed walk in shower, a private water closet, large floor to ceiling linen closet and a custom reclaimed wood vanity made by Limitless Woodworking. Light fixtures and door hardware were provided by Houzz. This modern bohemian bathroom also showcases a cement tile flooring, a feature wall and simple decor to tie everything together.
Metropolis Drafting and Construction IncMaster suite addition to an existing 20's Spanish home in the heart of Sherman Oaks, approx. 300+ sq. added to this 1300sq. home to provide the needed master bedroom suite. the large 14' by 14' bedroom has a 1 lite French door to the back yard and a large window allowing much needed natural light, the new hardwood floors were matched to the existing wood flooring of the house, a Spanish style arch was done at the entrance to the master bedroom to conform with the rest of the architectural style of the home.
The master bathroom on the other hand was designed with a Scandinavian style mixed with Modern wall mounted toilet to preserve space and to allow a clean look, an amazing gloss finish freestanding vanity unit boasting wall mounted faucets and a whole wall tiled with 2x10 subway tile in a herringbone pattern.
For the floor tile we used 8x8 hand painted cement tile laid in a pattern pre determined prior to installation.
The wall mounted toilet has a huge open niche above it with a marble shelf to be used for decoration.
The huge shower boasts 2x10 herringbone pattern subway tile, a side to side niche with a marble shelf, the same marble material was also used for the shower step to give a clean look and act as a trim between the 8x8 cement tiles and the bark hex tile in the shower pan.
Notice the hidden drain in the center with tile inserts and the great modern plumbing fixtures in an old work antique bronze finish.
A walk-in closet was constructed as well to allow the much needed storage space.
Architect HewsonThe first floor main bathroom has the classic shower over bath option. A timber vanity with a stone basin inset sits against a warm grey oversized tile.
Jamie House DesignThe original Master Bedroom was very small with a dark bath. By combining two bedrooms, the closets, and the tiny bathroom we were able to create a thoughtful master bath with soaking tub and two walk-in closets.
Innovative Design BuildOur clients wished for a larger, more spacious bathroom. We closed up a stairway and designed a new master bathroom with a large walk in shower, a free standing soaking tub and a vanity with plenty of storage. The wood framed mirrors, vertical shiplap and light marble pallet, give this space a warm, modern style.
Nar Design GroupContemporary raked rooflines give drama and beautiful lines to both the exterior and interior of the home. The exterior finished in Caviar black gives a soft presence to the home while emphasizing the gorgeous natural landscaping, while the Corten roof naturally rusts and patinas. Corridors separate the different hubs of the home. The entry corridor finished on both ends with full height glass fulfills the clients vision of a home — celebration of outdoors, natural light, birds, deer, etc. that are frequently seen crossing through.
The large pool at the front of the home is a unique placement — perfectly functions for family gatherings. Panoramic windows at the kitchen 7' ideal workstation open up to the pool and patio (a great setting for Taco Tuesdays).
The mostly white "Gathering" room was designed for this family to host their 15+ count dinners with friends and family. Large panoramic doors open up to the back patio for free flowing indoor and outdoor dining. Poggenpohl cabinetry throughout the kitchen provides the modern luxury centerpiece to this home. Walnut elements emphasize the lines and add a warm space to gather around the island. Pearlescent plaster finishes the walls and hood of the kitchen with a soft simmer and texture.
Corridors were painted Caviar to provide a visual distinction of the spaces and to wrap the outdoors to the indoors.
In the master bathroom, soft grey plaster was selected as a backdrop to the vanity and master shower. Contrasted by a deep green hue for the walls and ceiling, a cozy spa retreat was created. A corner cutout on the shower enclosure brings additional light and architectural interest to the space.
In the powder bathroom, a large circular mirror mimics the black pedestal vessel sinks. Amber-colored cut crystal pendants are organically suspended. A patinated copper and walnut grid was hand-finished by the client.
And in the guest bathroom, white and walnut make for a classic combination in this luxury guest bath. Jedi wall sconces are a favorite of guests — we love how they provide soft lighting and a spotlight to the surface.
Medina Exteriors & RemodelingThe Homeowner have been updating their home over the years, and decided it was time to have their master bathroom remodeled. They wanted something that would be timeless and that they could enjoy. Being in the trade business himself, Mr. was very capable of completing some of the work himself. We worked together to give the Homeowner the master bathroom that met their vision. We enlarged the shower, creating space to have a bench comfortably, provided more storage with cabinetry, and removed their drop-in tub for an elegant free-standing tub. In the shower, the unique feature here was the pebble flooring and waterfall accent tile along the backside wall. The space came together, brightening up the bathroom and making it a place where they can enjoy!
