A basic powder room gets a dose of wow factor with the addition of some key components. Prior to the remodel, the bottom half of the room felt out of proportion due to the narrow space, angular juts of the walls and the seemingly overbearing 11' ceiling. A much needed scale to balance the height of the room was established with an oversized Walker Zanger tile that acknowledged the rooms geometry. The custom vanity was kept off the floor and floated to give the bath a more spacious feel. Boyd Cinese sconces flank the custom wenge framed mirror. The LaCava vessel adds height to the vanity and perfectly compliments the boxier feel of the room. The overhead light by Stonegate showcases a wood base with a linen shade and acknowledges the volume in the room which now becomes a showcase component. Photo by Pete Maric.
Finesse Design Remodeling
A two-bed, two-bath condo located in the Historic Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC was reimagined with the clean lined sensibilities and celebration of beautiful materials found in Mid-Century Modern designs. A soothing gray-green color palette sets the backdrop for cherry cabinetry and white oak floors. Specialty lighting, handmade tile, and a slate clad corner fireplace further elevate the space. A new Trex deck with cable railing system connects the home to the outdoors.

We converted a bedroom to create the new master bathroom. We added a custom vanity with makeup table, quartz counter tops, marble vessel sinks, a large glass shower, a wall mounted toilet, and a large tub.
The blue gray wood textured floor tile continues up the wall behind the bathtub to highlight the lines of the tub. Five different styles of tile and faux painted cedar trim were mixed to create a subtle yet sophisticated look.
Flemming Interiors
This bathroom was carefully thought-out for great function and design for 2 young girls. We completely gutted the bathroom and made something that they both could grow in to. Using soft blue concrete Moroccan tiles on the floor and contrasted it with a dark blue vanity against a white palette creates a soft feminine aesthetic. The white finishes with chrome fixtures keep this design timeless.
Lavare Bathrooms
The classic archway is the highlight of this room and helps retain a sense of the home’s era. It also serves to section off the walk-in shower area and subdue the natural light from above. The Caesarstone vanity top and recessed drawer profiles tie in with the classic archway moulding and, by keeping the fixtures simple and streamlined, the room meets the brief for a contemporary space without disrupting the classic style of the home.
The inclusion of a double herringbone wall tile pattern in the shower recess creates a luxurious textural subtlety and, to meet the client’s request for an element of blue, a stunning Moroccan floor tile was used.
Simple Steps
This small bathroom has a custom mix mosaic tile on the counter, floor and walls. These recycled glass tiles are 3/4"x3/4" and you can make any custom mix.
