MANDARINA STUDIO interior designSummary of Scope: gut renovation/reconfiguration of kitchen, coffee bar, mudroom, powder room, 2 kids baths, guest bath, master bath and dressing room, kids study and playroom, study/office, laundry room, restoration of windows, adding wallpapers and window treatments
Background/description: The house was built in 1908, my clients are only the 3rd owners of the house. The prior owner lived there from 1940s until she died at age of 98! The old home had loads of character and charm but was in pretty bad condition and desperately needed updates. The clients purchased the home a few years ago and did some work before they moved in (roof, HVAC, electrical) but decided to live in the house for a 6 months or so before embarking on the next renovation phase. I had worked with the clients previously on the wife's office space and a few projects in a previous home including the nursery design for their first child so they reached out when they were ready to start thinking about the interior renovations. The goal was to respect and enhance the historic architecture of the home but make the spaces more functional for this couple with two small kids. Clients were open to color and some more bold/unexpected design choices. The design style is updated traditional with some eclectic elements. An early design decision was to incorporate a dark colored french range which would be the focal point of the kitchen and to do dark high gloss lacquered cabinets in the adjacent coffee bar, and we ultimately went with dark green.

EGF ServicesRetiled shower walls replaced shower doors, bathroom fixtures, toilet, vanity and flooring to give this farmhouse bathroom a much deserved update.
Juxtaposed InteriorsThis hall 1/2 Bathroom was very outdated and needed an update. We started by tearing out a wall that separated the sink area from the toilet and shower area. We found by doing this would give the bathroom more breathing space. We installed patterned cement tile on the main floor and on the shower floor is a black hex mosaic tile, with white subway tiles wrapping the walls.
Imperfect InteriorsWe added panelling, marble tiles & black rolltop & vanity to the master bathroom in our West Dulwich Family home. The bespoke blinds created privacy & cosiness for evening bathing too
Robert Tewkesbury Bespoke FurnitureAn en-suite bathroom made into a cosy sanctuary using hand made panels and units from our 'Oast House' range. Panels and units are made entirely from Accoya to ensure suitability for wet areas and finished in our paint shop with our specially formulated paint mixed to match Farrow & Ball 'Card Room Green' . Wall paper is from Morris & Co signature range of wall paper and varnished to resist moisture. Floor and wall tiles are from Fired Earth.

Imperfect InteriorsWe added monochrome patterned floor tiles, white tongue & groove panelling, green walls and and a dark blue cast iron bateau bath to the primary en-suite of the Isle of Wight project

Our stylish and seamless watertight walls go up easily in the hands of our seasoned professionals. High-quality tempered glass doors in the style are installed next, as well as all additional accessories the customer wanted. The job is done, and customers left with a new shower and a smile!
Tim Wood LimitedThis painted master bathroom was designed and made by Tim Wood.
One end of the bathroom has built in wardrobes painted inside with cedar of Lebanon backs, adjustable shelves, clothes rails, hand made soft close drawers and specially designed and made shoe racking.
The vanity unit has a partners desk look with adjustable angled mirrors and storage behind. All the tap fittings were supplied in nickel including the heated free standing towel rail. The area behind the lavatory was boxed in with cupboards either side and a large glazed cupboard above. Every aspect of this bathroom was co-ordinated by Tim Wood.
