Maraya Interior DesignWalls with thick plaster arches and simple tile designs feel very natural and earthy in the warm Southern California sun. Terra cotta floor tiles are stained to mimic very old tile inside and outside in the Spanish courtyard shaded by a 'new' old olive tree. The outdoor plaster and brick fireplace has touches of antique Indian and Moroccan items. An outdoor garden shower graces the exterior of the master bath with freestanding white tub- while taking advantage of the warm Ojai summers. The open kitchen design includes all natural stone counters of white marble, a large range with a plaster range hood and custom hand painted tile on the back splash. Wood burning fireplaces with iron doors, great rooms with hand scraped wide walnut planks in this delightful stay cool home. Stained wood beams, trusses and planked ceilings along with custom creative wood doors with Spanish and Indian accents throughout this home gives a distinctive California Exotic feel.

Mimi Pineau DesignA window seat adjacent to the bathtub allows for quiet conversations during evening soaks. A large storage drawer is concealed beneath. Tall cabinetry with open shelving elegantly covers the radiator and makes use of vertical space.
The bathtub has been reglazed, repainted and rotated to face the river view. A long niche provides at-hand storage and display space.
Freeform flowering vine wallpaper above the crisply tailored wall paneling and tall sconces add an elegant feel. Sparkling chrome fixtures provide a luxurious touch and reinforce the classic overtones of this custom design.

Mimi Pineau DesignOnce the design was completed, the homeowers were amazed at how much storage was made available with the carefully planned built-in cabinetry. The double custom vanity was fitted with drawers for maximum efficiency.
