Laura Medicus InteriorsThis is a Craftsman home in Denver’s Hilltop neighborhood. We added a family room, mudroom and kitchen to the back of the home.
Details Design and StagingTwo of the cabin's most striking features can be seen as soon as guests enter the door.
The beautiful custom staircase and rails highlight the height of the small structure and gives a view to both the library and workspace in the main loft and the second loft, referred to as The Perch.
The cozy conversation pit in this small footprint saves space and allows for 8 or more. Custom cushions are made from Revolution fabric and carpet is by Flor. Floors are reclaimed barn wood milled in Northern Ohio
Collaborative Interior DesignWe took advantage of the double volume ceiling height in the living room and added millwork to the stone fireplace, a reclaimed wood beam and a gorgeous, chandelier. The sliding doors lead out to the sundeck and the lake beyond. TV's mounted above fireplaces tend to be a little high for comfortable viewing from the sofa, so this tv is mounted on a pull down bracket for use when the fireplace is not turned on. Floating white oak shelves replaced upper cabinets above the bar area.
Old Barn DesignVaulted ceilings accented with scissor trusses. 2 sets of french doors lead out to a screened porch.
Schloegel Design Remodelhe vaulted ceiling creates a grand feeling in the room while the warm hardwoods, beam, and stone veneer on the fireplace give off warm and cozy vibes. The large Marvin windows and two-sided fireplace add to the rustic overtone by bringing the outside in. Our client’s furnishings added an eclectic air to the rustic vibe creating a room with a style all its own.

Amy Troute Inspired Interior DesignWe were approached by a Karen, a renowned sculptor, and her husband Tim, a retired MD, to collaborate on a whole-home renovation and furnishings overhaul of their newly purchased and very dated “forever home” with sweeping mountain views in Tigard. Karen and I very quickly found that we shared a genuine love of color, and from day one, this project was artistic and thoughtful, playful, and spirited. We updated tired surfaces and reworked odd angles, designing functional yet beautiful spaces that will serve this family for years to come. Warm, inviting colors surround you in these rooms, and classic lines play with unique pattern and bold scale. Personal touches, including mini versions of Karen’s work, appear throughout, and pages from a vintage book of Audubon paintings that she’d treasured for “ages” absolutely shine displayed framed in the living room.
Partnering with a proficient and dedicated general contractor (LHL Custom Homes & Remodeling) makes all the difference on a project like this. Our clients were patient and understanding, and despite the frustrating delays and extreme challenges of navigating the 2020/2021 pandemic, they couldn’t be happier with the results.

Elza B. Design, Inc.This family of four approached me to create a flex space, both TV viewing area for family and craft area for creative sisters. The goal was a bright, joyful and organized space with a transitional/modern vibe. We removed an old sink and cabinet, created built-ins for art and sound system, painted the dark room to lighten it up. Affordable art was scouted for the project, as well as brand new furniture, including a very comfortable sectional.
