Double sided glass walls enclose this custom wine cellar, with one side visible from the living room, the other from the dining room. Floor to ceiling black metal wine racks line each wall - dual sided as to maximize horizontal label forward design and display.
Vintage Cellars, master wine cellar builders out of San Diego, California, were able to design a beautiful looking and equally utilitarian cellar here, fitting over 675 wine bottles with ease.
The cooling unit was an RM Coil, traditionally mounted into the racks - but in this instance was recessed into the ceiling. The cooling unit and heat load calculation took into account that there were two large walls of glass here - knowing fully that there would be substantial heat loss through the large single panes on either end.
Within the room, beige stone accentuates the contemporary / modern look and matches stunningly with the color scheme and other design features in the surrounding rooms as well. Vintage CellarsVintage Cellars, Wine cellar design and build firm out of San Diego, California, worked with this celebrity client closely to create a gorgeous wine storage design to add depth and point of interest to this at home bar. This hybrid style wine cellar / wine room / custom wine cellar / custom wine room utilizes multiple styles of wine racks / wine racking to keep a modern and contemporary, yet refined and traditional feel in this home in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California.
On the back wall upper section, simple triple deep metal wine racks are used to showcase wine bottles horizontally, so that high providence wine labels can be displayed and celebrated. Clean black metal wine racking looks great against the white walls behind. In the center row of the back wall, a high reveal display is featured, again for more ability and capacity to show off those prized vintages and bottles. This high reveal wine display / angled wine display style section of wood wine racking / wooden wine racking / wood wine racks / wooden wine racks has been carefully thought about by our team to ensure that the angles at which the bottles sit still maintain a wet cork. Below sits room for OWC Original Wood Cases, where the client can store special wine selections often obtained directly from the wineries themselves. Case storage is great for wines which you plan to store for long periods of time, or for those special vintages you might be saving for a special occasion. Diamond Bins finish out this section in the back right corner. The Decadent Adult Retreat! Bar, Wine Cellar, 3 Sports TV's, Pool Table, Fireplace and Exterior Hot Tub.
A custom bar was designed my McCabe Design & Interiors to fit the homeowner's love of gathering with friends and entertaining whilst enjoying great conversation, sports tv, or playing pool. The original space was reconfigured to allow for this large and elegant bar. Beside it, and easily accessible for the homeowner bartender is a walk-in wine cellar. Custom millwork was designed and built to exact specifications including a routered custom design on the curved bar. A two-tiered bar was created to allow preparation on the lower level. Across from the bar, is a sitting area and an electric fireplace. Three tv's ensure maximum sports coverage. Lighting accents include slims, led puck, and rope lighting under the bar. A sonas and remotely controlled lighting finish this entertaining haven.
Geowood DesignWine cooler cabinet with set of drawers and adj. shelves. Storage underneath the staircase. All panels, fronts and doors are made with one continuous walnut veneer, shop made. Space between steps enclosed with matching wood (white oak) to conceal the storage area.
Design Connection, Inc.Arlene Ladegaard of Design Connection Inc. had already completed many projects in the client’s homes over the years and was excited for the challenge of designing a wine cellar in the unfinished basement. Wine Cellars come in many forms and styles. Our client’s had studied different styles of designs for many years as well as collecting over 1200 bottles of wine in all shapes and sizes. After living in their new Leawood home for a few years it was time to address an update on the lower level and design and build a wine cellar that was perfect for their use.

"Sophie Bates Architects and Zoe Defert Architects have recently completed a refurbishment and extension across four floors of living to a Regency-style house, adding 125sqm to the family home. The collaborative approach of the team, as noted below, was key to the success of the design.
The generous basement houses fantastic family spaces - a playroom, media room, guest room, gym and steam room that have been bought to life through crisp, contemporary detailing and creative use of light. The quality of basement design and overall site detailing was vital to the realisation of the concept on site. Linear lighting to floors and ceiling guides you past the media room through to the lower basement, which is lit by a 10m long frameless roof light.
The ground and upper floors house open plan kitchen and living spaces with views of the garden and bedrooms and bathrooms above. At the top of the house is a loft bedroom and bathroom, completing the five bedroom house. All joinery to the home
was designed and detailed by the architects. A careful, considered approach to detailing throughout creates a subtle interplay between light, material contrast and space."
