This informal living / family room in a period house has contemporary furniture which contrasts with the original fireplace, high ceilings and coving. The colourful furniture stands out against the white walls, lighting and fireplace.

Innovative Design Build, Inc
Innovative Design Build was hired to remodel an existing fireplace in a single family home in Boca Raton, Florida. We were not to change the footprint of the fireplace or to replace the fire box. Our design brought this outdated dark bulky fireplace that looked like it belonged in a log cabin, into 2020 with a modern sleeker design. We replaced the whole surround including the hearth and mantle, as well as painted the side walls. The clients, who prefer a more coastal design, loved the traditional brick pattern for the surround, so we used creamy colors in a multi format design to give it a lot of texture. Then we chose a beautiful porcelain slab that was cut using mitered edges for a seamless look. We then stained a custom mantle to match other wood tones in their home tying it into the surrounding furniture. Finally we painted the walls in a lighter greige tone to compliment the newly remodeled fireplace. This project was finished in under a month, just in time for the clients to enjoy the Christmas holiday.
Quarry Mill
This beautiful family room incorporates the Quarry Mill's Charcoal Canyon natural thin stone veneer as a gorgeous fireplace focal point. Charcoal Canyon will bring a variety of grays, whites, and black tones to your project. The lighter colors have bands of color that add dimension to the various sized stones. The irregular shaped stones are mostly rectangular with squared ends will work well for any sized project. This stone is great for accent walls, fireplace surrounds and exterior accents. The variety of textures and stone colors also make Charcoal Canyon complimentary to modern décor. Electronics, appliances, and other modern accessories will all blend well with this stone.

As in most homes, the family room and kitchen is the hub of the home. Walls and ceiling are papered with a look like grass cloth vinyl, offering just a bit of texture and interest. Flanking custom Kravet sofas provide a comfortable place to talk to the cook! The game table expands for additional players or a large puzzle. The mural depicts the over 50 acres of ponds, rolling hills and two covered bridges built by the home owner.

The lake level of this home was dark and dreary. Everywhere you looked, there was brown... dark brown painted window casings, door casings, and baseboards... brown stained concrete (in bad shape), brown wood countertops, brown backsplash tile, and black cabinetry. We refinished the concrete floor into a beautiful water blue, removed the rustic stone fireplace and created a beautiful quartzite stone surround, used quartzite countertops that flow with the new marble mosaic backsplash, lightened up the cabinetry in a soft gray, and added lots of layers of color in the furnishings. The result is was a fun space to hang out with family and friends.

This residence, located slope side at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, was designed to accommodate a very large and gregarious family during their summer and winter retreats. Living spaces are elevated above the forest canopy on the second story in order to maximize sunlight and views. Exterior materials are rustic and durable, yet are also minimalist with pronounced textural contrast. The simple interior material palette of drywall, white oak, and gray stone creates a sense of cohesiveness throughout the house, and glass is used to create a sense of connection between key public spaces.

This European look was achieved using @finepaintsofeurope Hollandlac paint and hours of meticulous hand painting by our professionals. This is a long process but worth it for this stunning mirror-like look.

Quarry Mill
This beautiful fireplace is made with Door County Fieldstone natural thin veneer from the Quarry Mill. Door County Fieldstone consists of a range of earthy colors like brown, tan, and hues of green. The combination of rectangular and oval shapes makes this natural stone veneer very different. The stones’ various sizes will help you create unique patterns that are great for large projects like exterior siding or landscaping walls. Smaller projects are still possible and worth the time spent planning. The range of colors are also great for blending in with existing décor of rustic and modern homes alike.

A family in McLean VA decided to remodel two levels of their home.
There was wasted floor space and disconnections throughout the living room and dining room area. The family room was very small and had a closet as washer and dryer closet. Two walls separating kitchen from adjacent dining room and family room.
After several design meetings, the final blue print went into construction phase, gutting entire kitchen, family room, laundry room, open balcony.
We built a seamless main level floor. The laundry room was relocated and we built a new space on the second floor for their convenience.
The family room was expanded into the laundry room space, the kitchen expanded its wing into the adjacent family room and dining room, with a large middle Island that made it all stand tall.
The use of extended lighting throughout the two levels has made this project brighter than ever. A walk -in pantry with pocket doors was added in hallway. We deleted two structure columns by the way of using large span beams, opening up the space. The open foyer was floored in and expanded the dining room over it.
All new porcelain tile was installed in main level, a floor to ceiling fireplace(two story brick fireplace) was faced with highly decorative stone.
The second floor was open to the two story living room, we replaced all handrails and spindles with Rod iron and stained handrails to match new floors. A new butler area with under cabinet beverage center was added in the living room area.
The den was torn up and given stain grade paneling and molding to give a deep and mysterious look to the new library.
The powder room was gutted, redefined, one doorway to the den was closed up and converted into a vanity space with glass accent background and built in niche.
Upscale appliances and decorative mosaic back splash, fancy lighting fixtures and farm sink are all signature marks of the kitchen remodel portion of this amazing project.
I don't think there is only one thing to define the interior remodeling of this revamped home, the transformation has been so grand.
