Betty Wasserman Art & Interiors: The Hamptons
This 7,000 square foot space is a modern weekend getaway for a modern family of four. The owners were looking for a designer who could fuse their love of art and elegant furnishings with the practicality that would fit their lifestyle. They owned the land and wanted to build their new home from the ground up. Betty Wasserman Art & Interiors, Ltd. was a natural fit to make their vision a reality.
Upon entering the house, you are immediately drawn to the clean, contemporary space that greets your eye. A curtain wall of glass with sliding doors, along the back of the house, allows everyone to enjoy the harbor views and a calming connection to the outdoors from any vantage point, simultaneously allowing watchful parents to keep an eye on the children in the pool while relaxing indoors. Here, as in all her projects, Betty focused on the interaction between pattern and texture, industrial and organic.

Colorful Coastal Bedroom
When this little girl’s bedroom was installed, she was on the young side. The mom loved the idea of wallpaper, but she was concerned that if it was on the walls her daughter would destroy it. We suggested putting the Walnut wall covering on the ceiling instead.
The pattern might have even been too busy for the walls. Used on the ceiling, it draws the eye up.
This little girl is very into the princess thing. While an overly pink, princess-themed room would have been over-the-top, we made sure the space felt regal enough for its young inhabitant by installing a high canopy bed and furry shag rug. While the room has plenty of pink, it’s paired with other colors including coral and mint green.

Maya’s drawings have been framed and mounted proudly on the walls. And of course we couldn’t forget that every girly girl absolutely needs a mirror in her room! Patricia Hoyna

A young girl's bedroom needed a full makeover. Her mother did not like traditional pinks and purples for a girls' room so we selected a gorgeous teal and white wallcovering and matching drapery fabric. Accents of pink and magenta were sprinkled through the room. A custom built-in desk and shelves were added to a nook. The furniture was all existing pieces from our client's grandmother and were very meaningful to her. We sent the furniture to be reupholstered and refinished for a completely new look. The end result was a beautiful room and a happy client and little girl. photo dredit: Gieves Anderson

A perfect playroom space for two young girls to grow into. The space contains a custom made playhouse, complete with hidden trap door, custom built in benches with plenty of toy storage and bench cushions for reading, lounging or play pretend. In order to mimic an outdoor space, we added an indoor swing. The side of the playhouse has a small soft area with green carpeting to mimic grass, and a small picket fence. The tree wall stickers add to the theme. A huge highlight to the space is the custom designed, custom built craft table with plenty of storage for all kinds of craft supplies. The rustic laminate wood flooring adds to the cottage theme.

This family room transitions to a game room for children. We've utilized every space for storage including the space beneath the seats, game and toy storage overhead and created a table that expands out for family dining.

This boys bedroom decor was inspired by the framed Union Jack flag, which also has sentimental value as the boy was born in London, UK. We chose to paint the room entirely in Benjamin Moore's flint, including ceiling and trim. The room is small but with the slanted ceilings and contrary to myth, the dark colour doesn't make this room feel smaller. We popped with red and green accents and used many of the boys items as accessories when styling.
