Tom Meaney Architect, AIAA large bay window is a welcoming feature of the private entry court to the residence. Accent elements of copper, stone, and leaded glass bring character to this informal cottage. To maintain the intimate scale in the larger interior spaces, I included small sitting alcoves as well as color, texture, and details to the ceilings.

Mark Brand ArchitectureA spine wall serves as the unifying concept for our addition and remodeling work on this Victorian house in Noe Valley. On one side of the spine wall are the new kitchen, library/dining room and powder room as well as the existing entry foyer and stairs. On the other side are a new deck, stairs and “catwalk” at the exterior and the existing living room and front parlor at the interior. The catwalk allowed us to create a series of French doors which flood the interior of the kitchen with light. Strategically placed windows in the kitchen frame views and highlight the character of the spine wall as an important architectural component. The project scope also included a new master bathroom at the upper floor. Details include cherry cabinets, marble counters, slate floors, glass mosaic tile backsplashes, stainless steel art niches and an upscaled reproduction of a Renaissance era painting.
Forrester Roberts Interior DesignThis living room is one of my favourites for several reasons. Initially, it was an odd trapezium shape which meant that storage and a comfortable furniture layout was very tricky. We designed joinery to go along the back of the room which squared the space up nicely whilst providing storage and a nook for the client’s keyboard. The client was a musician who needed space not only for a keyboard but several guitars and a didgeridoo, the joinery made it possible to store or display all of these items and more! The ceiling ‘drum’ pendant also referenced the client’s love for music, and the coffee table could be converted to a dining table for six, which maximised the flexibility of the room.
Misiaszek Turpin pllcThis 4,800 square-foot guesthouse is a three-story residence consisting of a main-level master suite, upper-level guest suite, and a large bunkroom. The exterior finishes were selected for their durability and low-maintenance characteristics, as well as to provide a unique, complementary element to the site. Locally quarried granite and a sleek slate roof have been united with cement fiberboard shingles, board-and-batten siding, and rustic brackets along the eaves.
The public spaces are located on the north side of the site in order to communicate with the public spaces of a future main house. With interior details picking up on the picturesque cottage style of architecture, this space becomes ideal for both large and small gatherings. Through a similar material dialogue, an exceptional boathouse is formed along the water’s edge, extending the outdoor recreational space to encompass the lake.

Atlas ArchitectsSituated along the coastal foreshore of Inverloch surf beach, this 7.4 star energy efficient home represents a lifestyle change for our clients. ‘’The Nest’’, derived from its nestled-among-the-trees feel, is a peaceful dwelling integrated into the beautiful surrounding landscape.
Inspired by the quintessential Australian landscape, we used rustic tones of natural wood, grey brickwork and deep eucalyptus in the external palette to create a symbiotic relationship between the built form and nature.
The Nest is a home designed to be multi purpose and to facilitate the expansion and contraction of a family household. It integrates users with the external environment both visually and physically, to create a space fully embracive of nature.
