Paul Uhlmann ArchitectsThis residence was designed to be a rural weekend getaway for a city couple and their children. The idea of ‘The Barn’ was embraced, as the building was intended to be an escape for the family to go and enjoy their horses. The ground floor plan has the ability to completely open up and engage with the sprawling lawn and grounds of the property. This also enables cross ventilation, and the ability of the family’s young children and their friends to run in and out of the building as they please. Cathedral-like ceilings and windows open up to frame views to the paddocks and bushland below.
As a weekend getaway and when other families come to stay, the bunkroom upstairs is generous enough for multiple children. The rooms upstairs also have skylights to watch the clouds go past during the day, and the stars by night. Australian hardwood has been used extensively both internally and externally, to reference the rural setting.
Blackdoor Design by Tamra CovielloA bit of bling in the lounge! These Four Hands chairs add pop of color and luxury to this customized space. Designed as a conversation space, Tamra combined textures to make it cozy and the fireplace tiled to the ceiling creates a unique centerpiece. Museum lighting is a great way to display collectible items, such as guitars!

IL DecorComposition #328 is an arrangement made up of a tv unit, fireplace, bookshelves and cabinets. The structure is finished in matt bianco candido lacquer. Glass doors are also finished in bianco candido lacquer. A bioethanol fireplace is finished in Silver Shine stone. On the opposite wall the Style sideboard has doors shown in coordinating Silver Shine stone with a frame in bianco candido lacquer.
Flavin ArchitectsThis remodel of a mid century gem is located in the town of Lincoln, MA a hot bed of modernist homes inspired by Gropius’ own house built nearby in the 1940’s. By the time the house was built, modernism had evolved from the Gropius era, to incorporate the rural vibe of Lincoln with spectacular exposed wooden beams and deep overhangs.
The design rejects the traditional New England house with its enclosing wall and inward posture. The low pitched roofs, open floor plan, and large windows openings connect the house to nature to make the most of its rural setting.

CJC InteriorsThis modern farmhouse living room features a custom shiplap fireplace by Stonegate Builders, with custom-painted cabinetry by Carver Junk Company. The large rug pattern is mirrored in the handcrafted coffee and end tables, made just for this space.
Altura ArchitectsSmall den off the main living space in this modern farmhouse in Mill Spring, NC. Black and white color palette with eclectic art from around the world. Heavy wooden furniture warms the room. Comfortable l-shaped gray couch is perfect for reading or cozying up by the fireplace.
