Texture can be so important to adding interest to a space. We fell in love with the velvet alligator skin embossed fabric for this sofa., which is a complimentary contrast to the textured wooden cocktail table.

Each wing of this former stable and carriage house became separate homes for two brothers. Although the structure is symmetrical from the exterior, it is uniquely distinct inside. The two siblings have different personalities and lifestyles; each wing takes on characteristics of the brother inhabiting it. The domed and vaulted space between the two wings functions as their common area and can be used to host large- scale social events. Welcome to the main living room of the home. Here the designer plays up symmetry to further enhance the grand space. The elegant gold silk draperies are full and lush and are drawn back left and right to pull your eye to the fireplace. There is a beautiful antique English mantel mirror above the fireplace that takes center place in the room. Two antique French Bergere chairs flank the fireplace. A modern glass and bronze coffeetable is in the fore front of this photo. Please contact designer for further details. Designer: Jo Ann Alston Photographer: David Gruel

This 10,970 square-foot, single-family home took the place of an obsolete structure in an established, picturesque Milwaukee suburb.. The newly constructed house feels both fresh and relevant while being respectful of its surrounding traditional context. It is sited in a way that makes it feel as if it was there very early and the neighborhood developed around it. The home is clad in a custom blend of New York granite sourced from two quarries to get a unique color blend. Large, white cement board trim, standing-seam copper, large groupings of windows, and cut limestone accents are composed to create a home that feels both old and new—and as if it were plucked from a storybook. Marvin products helped tell this story with many available options and configurations that fit the design.
