A stunning farmhouse styled home is given a light and airy contemporary design! Warm neutrals, clean lines, and organic materials adorn every room, creating a bright and inviting space to live.
The rectangular swimming pool, library, dark hardwood floors, artwork, and ornaments all entwine beautifully in this elegant home.
Project Location: The Hamptons. Project designed by interior design firm, Betty Wasserman Art & Interiors. From their Chelsea base, they serve clients in Manhattan and throughout New York City, as well as across the tri-state area and in The Hamptons.

The light streaming in through the French doors in this garden room pick out the tones and textures in the limestone floor perfectly.

Located in a tight urban pocket, the constraints of this 2150 square foot triangular-shaped site would have deterred many. However, the property owners and architects of Molecule Studio saw the compact site and its restrictions as an opportunity to create a contemporary family home that strongly referenced its environment.

Forest to Home
A slim, long-form table, showcasing an air-dried English oak slab with live edges and natural contours.
On top, a beautifully finished oak slab with live edges preserved on opposing sides. Below, narrow legs and a barred-rack are constructed from hammered steel with hand-fabricated tig weld joints. A hardwearing finish allows the wood to age gracefully and develop a natural patina.

Imagine how you can always see your loved ones cooking or your kids playing in the living area. They all bend into one space as we try to emphasis the importance of seeing and interacting with the people you care about.

It's difficult to imagine that this beautiful light-filled space was once a dark and draughty barn with a leaking roof. Adjoining a Georgian farmhouse, the barn has been completely renovated and knocked through to the main house to create a large open plan family area with mezzanine. Zoned into living and dining areas, the barn incorporates bi-folding doors on two elevations, opening the space up completely to both front and rear gardens. Egyptian limestone flooring has been used for the whole downstairs area, whilst a neutral carpet has been used for the stairs and mezzanine level.

Custom made slatted light fittings travel from the garden room through to the living room and kitchen. A wall of louvres provide natural light and ventilation. As do the Highlight windows above. Hoop pine ply lines the walls. The garden room helps to purify the air all year round.
